Data Scientist – Compliance Analytics and Transformation

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, validation, and roll‑out of a global market abuse detection model within Compliance Analytics and Transformation, covering full lifecycle ownership from requirements gathering to deployment, monitoring, and maintenance.
  • Design, implement, and productionize advanced time series and anomaly detection models (e.g. ARIMA/SARIMA/VAR, GARCH family, change‑point detection, Isolation Forest, One‑Class SVM, DBSCAN, LSTM autoencoders)
  • Work extensively with high‑frequency and structurally complex financial time series, including preprocessing irregular and asynchronous data
  • Build robust Python‑based analytics solutions using production‑grade software engineering (OOP, modular design, exception handling, performance profiling, TDD) with libraries such as pandas, NumPy, scipy, scikit‑learn, statsmodels, and PyTorch or tensorflow, complemented by optimized SQL (especially on Oracle) for large‑scale data access.
  • Collaborate closely with cross‑functional stakeholders to translate complex technical findings into actionable insights for non‑technical audiences.

Requirements / Skills

  • Minimum 7 years' professional experience in advanced data science and statistical modelling roles in top‑tier banks, asset managers, or capital‑markets‑focused fintechs, ideally in regulatorily sensitive domains such as market or trade surveillance.
  • Master's degree or PhD in Quantitative Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Engineering, or a closely related quantitative field, with proven real‑world application in financial markets.
  • Master‑level Python skills for data science and production software (OOP, modular architecture, exception handling, performance profiling, test‑driven development), deep hands‑on experience with pandas, NumPy, scipy, scikit‑learn, statsmodels, and either PyTorch or tensorflow, plus experience building reusable internal packages and libraries.
  • Strong SQL proficiency with large Oracle datasets and end‑to‑end ownership of analytical models.
  • Exceptional analytical rigor and communication skills
