This role is based in the Digital Endpoints and Patient-Centered Solutions (DEPCS) team, the innovative digital, AI, and tech function within Roche Product Development Data Sciences (PDD). Operating across the Science of Medicines and Operations, DEPCS is responsible for embedding patient-centered and AI-enabled digital solutions into the fabric of clinical research. By integrating data science, measurement science, and digital product thinking, DEPCS delivers scalable and regulatory-ready innovations that enhance trial design, evidence generation, and clinical value of Roche medicines.

As the senior leader and functional head for Product Management & Design within DEPCS, you will be responsible for establishing the strategic vision, overarching standards and best practices for for the development and scaling of digital, AI, and measurement science solutions. This includes leading product lifecycle strategies, embedding human-centered design, and building robust frameworks for value delivery, quality, and compliance. You will lead a team of product leaders and solution managers, nurturing and developing their capabilities while working closely with cross-functional partners across PDD, affiliates, and external collaborators to ensure Roche's product portfolio meets regulatory standards, delivers meaningful outcomes, and addresses unmet needs in healthcare.

• You establish the overarching strategic direction and define and oversee product development frameworks and standards for DEPCS, ensuring they set the benchmark for industry-leading practices in digital health, AI, and human-centered design

• You lead the integration of product strategy, compliance, platform alignment, and quality standards across the entire DEPCS product portfolio, ensuring cohesive and consistent excellence

• You orchestrate and provide executive oversight for the design and implementation of productized digital solutions, working closely with stakeholders to align solutions to therapeutic area strategies and patient needs

• You are accountable for establishing and refining processes for product lifecycle, technical assessments, deployment readiness, and ecosystem fit of incoming digital solutions, leveraging SME networks to validate feasibility and functionality

• You monitor external trends in health tech, digital biomarkers, regulatory science, and platform technologies to inform and proactively shape DEPCS product strategy

• You drive functional excellence within Product Management & Design, collaborating with the Digital/AI Functional Excellence Lead to ensure consistency in compliance, portfolio alignment, and operating model execution

• You define and drive the adoption of scalable processes for evaluating and operationalizing "serious" prototypes into owned products with sustainable resourcing across the DEPCS portfolio

• You provide executive leadership and strategic direction for a high-performing team of product managers, solution owners, and human-centered design specialists across multiple domains and therapeutic areas, fostering their professional growth and driving a culture of innovation and accountability

• You strategically define priorities, oversee resource allocation, and manage budgets to ensure alignment with mid- and long-term DEPCS and Roche product development objectives

• You instill and champion a "product-first" culture throughout DEPCS, ensuring a relentless focus on value delivery, iterative improvement, and systems thinking across all product initiatives

• You act as a principal coach and mentor to senior product leaders within the function, shaping their capabilities, driving consistency, performance, and cross-functional alignment

• You are accountable for the talent strategy and organizational health of the Product Management & Design function, partnering with DEPCS, PDD, and enterprise stakeholders to build a robust talent pipeline, supporting recruitment, retention, and capability development

• You hold an advanced degree (e.g., MBA, PharmD, PhD, MD) in healthcare, technology, business, or a related field

• You have 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in the biopharma, health tech, or digital health space with a strong track record in leading product management organizations or significant product portfolios, solution design, or integrated health solutions

• You have demonstrated experience defining and executing enterprise-level complex digital health product strategies in matrixed, cross-functional, and international settings

• You bring proven expertise in providing strategic oversight to multi-stakeholder programs and guiding digital or patient-centered health technologies through risk, compliance, and market access frameworks

• You have strong command of design thinking, lean product development, and human-centered design principles

• You have experience working across healthcare ecosystems, including policy makers, payers, providers, and external innovators

• You demonstrate the ability to drive functional and organizational transformation through structured problem solving, collaboration, and innovation

• You demonstrate capacity for visionary and independent thinking and ability to make decisions based upon sound principles

• You bring excellent strategic agility including problem-solving and critical thinking skills, and agility that extends beyond the technical domain

• You demonstrate respect for cultural differences when interacting with colleagues in the global workplace

• You have excellent verbal and written communication skills, specifically in the areas of presentation and writing, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts in clear language to executive leadership and external thought leaders

• Experience with clinical trial technologies, digital endpoints, or AI-driven health applications

• Familiarity with global regulatory frameworks for digital health tools (e.g., FDA SaMD, EU MDR, GxP)

• Proven leadership in establishing, scaling, and optimizing design operations, product enablement toolkits, or UX research teams at a functional or organizational level

• Experience driving cross-functional collaboration  with technology and platform teams to define shared architectures and integration standards

• Knowledge of Roche's development ecosystem or prior collaboration with DEPCS-aligned functions (e.g., Biostats, TechX, RWCDS)
