Partnership Officer Global Affairs 80 %Start of employment as soon as possible, temporary
The Global Affairs Office at the University of Zurich (UZH) fosters and maintains the university's global engagement with partner institutions and key actors across the international (higher) education landscape and academic community. Its mission is to strengthen UZH's international networks and enhance its global visibility. The office supports the Executive Board in shaping the university's external relations and coordinates the implementation of UZH's internationalisation strategy.
Your responsibilitiesWe are seeking a Partnership Officer to join our team as a maternity leave cover for a fixed term of one year.
As Partnership Officer at Global Affairs, you are part of the Global Networks team, which takes care of UZH's international partnerships and network memberships. In this role, you work closely with our project managers and the team lead to ensure a smooth running of our partner activities, including visits and events.
Your key responsibilities include:
- partnership and network activities: supporting network activities and groups, visiting requests; organization and logistics for governance meetings, visits, workshops and symposia; drafting of briefing materials
- data management: management of UZH's international Cooperation Database, including coordination with faculties and departments; updates of user guidelines; preparing reports; serving as the point of contact for the database provider and for UZH-internal users for database-related queries
- reviewing and processing Memoranda of Understanding with partner institutions
- providing flexible support for Global Affairs projects and initiatives
You are an organized and proactive professional who enjoys working at the intersection of international collaboration, data management, and stakeholder engagement. Ideally, you bring at least one year of relevant experience in managing databases and projects. Experience in working within the higher education sector and international experience (e.g. during your studies) are a strong asset. A university degree is required; additional training in project management is an advantage.
You demonstrate a structured approach and the ability to anticipate needs. Switching between detailed administrative tasks, project management and communication with diverse international stakeholders comes naturally to you. Excellent command of German and English enables you to operate in a bilingual environ-ment.
Strong digital skills are part of your professional toolkit: You feel comfortable managing data systems, responding to user enquiries, and maintaining documentation. Ideally, you have experience with cooperation or CRM databases. You work confidently with Microsoft 365, especially Excel, Teams and SharePoint.
You value collaboration and a positive team culture while also being able to work independently. If you are genuinely interested in the diverse thematic areas within Global Affairs, and enjoy combining organizational processes with international engagement, we look forward to welcoming you to our team. Our work culture is characterized by team spirit, efficiency and humor.
