For Current Gilead Employees and Contractors: Please log onto your Internal Career Site **Job Description**: Director, Multilateral Organizations Policy Description The Director of Multilateral Organizations (MLO) Policy will develop policy positions and engagement strategies to shape policies in multilateral organizations that could impact Gilead. This role will demonstrate impact by shaping policies that expand access to Gilead’s medicines, enable successful global launches, and support Gilead’s business model in emerging debates on pandemic preparedness and Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) affairs. The Director will also support global association executive involvement, including the Biopharmaceutical CEO Roundtable, the IFPMA Council, and the Gates CEO Roundtable. The Director will have a strong network in the MLO space and the ability to build and maintain collaborative external relationships. The Director will be skilled in navigating organizations and influencing colleagues to achieve goals. This role reports into the Executive Director of Global Health Systems, Value and Intellectual Property Policy in the Policy team of the Government Affairs and Policy group (GA&P). **Responsibilities**: - Support priority TAs with policy analysis and MLO/Geneva engagement needed to promote healthcare funding and appropriate access for Gilead medicines. - Lead and develop policy strategies with global health orgs/MLOs to support product launches. - Ensure inclusion of Gilead priorities in industry advocacy and government pandemic preparedness proposals. - Ensure emerging ESG frameworks and global ESG policies align with Gilead policy priorities, leading coordination among all internal Gilead stakeholders working through national or above-country industry associations. - Support executive participation in global industry associations, such as the Biopharmaceutical CEO Roundtable, IFPMA Council, and the Gates CEO Roundtable. - Leverage other Policy Team members to shape broader MLO policies on priority therapeutic areas (TAs) and specialized topics, such as intellectual property and trade. - Develop policy positions and advocacy tools to support GA&P teams and ensure global alignment within the company. - Manage cross-functional Multilateral Policy working-group and create digital tools for effective information sharing across the enterprise. - Support adaptation of policy positions for country-level advocacy needs. Work with other GA&P teams to build advocacy strategy and coordinate outreach to MLO regional offices. - Monitor and maintain calendar of relevant MLO events, as well as side events and policy-related opportunities for engagement. - Ensure rapid communication with all members of Government Affairs and Policy on MLO policy issues that have a direct impact on their markets. - Partner with Public Affairs to support Gilead thought leadership efforts related to the MLO policy issues. **Requirements**: - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent required; graduate degree preferable. - 15 years professional experience in government, health care policy, or global health. Minimum five years’ experience in an MLO or in a role requiring substantial engagement with MLOs. - Strong network of contacts across MLOs and global health organizations. - Expert knowledge of global health issues. Preference for experience with pandemic preparedness. - Experience building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, preferably MLOs - Experience working with trade associations and supporting executives. - Experience managing cross-functional teams and navigating a complex organization - Strong collaboration and trust-building skills - Creative thinking and influencing skills - Can travel internationally approximately 25-35% of the time (post-pandemic) Preferred location: Geneva Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) It is the policy of Gilead Sciences, Inc. and its subsidiaries and affiliates (collectively "Gilead" or the "Company") to recruit select and employ the most qualified persons available for positions throughout the Company.
