The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low
- and middle-income countries. Associated with the University of Basel, Swiss TPH combines research, education and services at local, national and international levels. 950 people from 80 nations work at Swiss TPH focusing on infectious and non-communicable diseases, environment, society and health as well as health systems and interventions.

The Chief Information Security and Data Protection Officer (CISO/DPO) provides strategic vision and direction in information security and privacy aspects at Swiss TPH. He/she develops strategies, policies and guidance for securing and protecting information. The CISO/DPO is currently looking for a **Internship Information Security and Privacy (50 - 100%).**
- You support the CISO/DPO in his/her daily business, from strategic development to guidance for employees, from training and awareness campaigns to providing consultancy to individual business partners at the institute. In addition to the diverse range of tasks, you can contribute to internal development projects on data governance at the institute._

**Your position**

**Your various responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to manage internal requests in the area of information security and data protection
- Contributions to the development of concepts as well as process definition, documentation and implementation to improve data protection and information security
- Assistance in the conception, planning and implementation of training courses and awareness campaigns to increase the awareness of our employees, including e.g. the creation of presentations, intranet content and information material
- Support with the conceptualisation and implementation of an ISMS/PIMS oriented to ISO standards

**Your profile**

**You should have the following experiences and skills in**:

- University degree in technological or natural sciences with strong interest in information security and privacy
- Experience or knowledge of the basics of information security and privacy is a strong advantage
- A good basic understanding of IT, interest in new technologies and AI
- Good communication skills, problem-solving skills and enthusiasm to work in an international, multi-disciplinary setting
- Languages: German & English (fluent in written and spoken)
