The Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH) is a world-leading institute in global health with a particular focus on low

The Department of Medicine (MED) of Swiss TPH conducts translational research and provides medical and diagnostics services. The Genotyping group is currently looking for a Laboratory technician.

You will be working with the Genotyping group, an ISO 17025 accredited laboratory in the Medicines Development Unit. The group is providing services to drug developers for molecular analyses of samples collected during regulatory clinical trials. Among other tasks, you will be performing molecular analyses for antimalarials drug efficacy assessment and assessing the molecular markers associated with antimalarial drug resistance.

**Your position**
- Perform genotyping assays according to the SOPs and the quality management system
- Maintain the equipment in the genotyping laboratory according to the quality management system
- Maintain good laboratory practices in the laboratory and make sure the work is performed work under the ISO17025: 2017 accreditation regulation
- Order reagents and supplies in the genotyping laboratory when needed
- Manage the genotyping database and produce data reports
- Participate in the development of new genotyping assays

**Your profile**
- Apprenticeship as laboratory technician or BSc/MSc in Molecular biology
- Experience in molecular biology and PCR assays development
- Experience in working in an accredited environment
- Experience with next generation sequencing (NGS)assays is of advantage
- Strong spirit of team work and initiative
- Readiness to go on short term missions to tropical countries in order to train and support colleagues in partner laboratories
- Excellent command of English (speaking and writing)
