Laboratory Support Technician, 80

Basel, Switzerland is at the intersection of the Swiss, French, and German borders. We are looking for a **Laboratory Support Technician** to support our growing laboratory operations. In this role the technician will be responsible for providing assistance to the laboratory manager and the scientist staff by fulfilling maintenance and logistic responsibilities as well as by preparing reagents, e.g. buffer or media. For this position, we are looking for a highly-motivated, diligent and reliable working person that likes to interact with people and is not shy in taking on responsibilities in the laboratory. Ideally, the person should have previous experience working in a laboratory and preparing basic research materials under sterile and non-sterile conditions.

**RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Quality control of common laboratory reagents and equipment, such as transfection reagents or antibiotics.
- Ownership and maintenance of laboratory equipment, e.g. pipettes, pH meter or cell culture incubators.
- Managing of incoming and outgoing goods.
- Laboratory housekeeping and restocking.
- Lead waste management and cleaning of laboratory glass wear.
- Good communication and support with the lab manager and entire scientific staff.
- Additional duties as required by the lab manager.
**QUALIFICATIONS**
- Apprenticeship as a laboratory technician, or B.S. in biology, biotechnology, or related fields.
- Practical experience working in biochemistry, molecular biology or related laboratory, ideally under S2 conditions.
- Proficiency (preferably B2-C1 level) in both written and spoken English.
- Must be highly independent, able to work in a fast-growing and highly diverse international team and thrive in a “start-up” environment.
- Highly precise and organized with good scientific documentation and communication skills.
- Good computer skills required (MS Office, Apple hardware).
- Experience with electronic lab notebook (ELN), molecular biology software, data analysis software, or other laboratory software(s) is a plus.
