We are looking for a **Project Buyer 100% (M/F/d) **at our site in Schaffhausen (CH), available as soon as possible. Ideally, you have already some experience in the field of project sourcing including analytical and strong negotiation skills in the transportation industry and / or manufacturing environment.

**Your tasks will include**:

- Improve projects’ Contract Margin (CM) thanks to the achievement of the “Margin Improvement Plan” target and the deployment of the APQP
- Guarantee the best Total Cost of Ownership and challenge Wabtec Transit organization in order to improve the projects CM
- Transfer of complete projects to the production site including all sourcing activities and documentation
- Manage all purchasing aspects of assigned projects, starting with the tender phase. Work with Project Teams and Regional Category Managers to drive supplier selection, use standard R&D products, guarantee successful development of engineered parts, use APQP, and overall supplier management during development
- Establish and manage the Project Purchasing Plan (Supplier APQP, Selection, 2nd source) and schedule of long lead items (Long lead time and critical purchase material list)
- Follow-up material cost vs. budget on project level including potential risks and opportunities
- Co-ordinate project related material cost reduction activities and harmonise with overall Project Improvement Plan (MIP or other)

**As a Project Buyer **, you will contribute heavily to the successful transfer of our projects to the production site through your goal-oriented, quality and cost-conscious working methods and you will be the central contact for all sourcing activities. You will work within the Project Core Team. Some travel between the sites (Germany - Switzerland - Czech Republic) might be needed to achieve the best results.

**For this position we expect **a cooperative, autonomous and methodical way of working as well as a strong commitment and negotiation skills. 3 to 5 years of experience in purchasing and especially work in projects experience is preferred. We are looking for a Team Player with strong inter-personnel skills for effective communication with vendors, clients and related departmental personnel. Good knowledge of MS-Office as well as a confident command of our group language, English, is a prerequisite. German is a plus.
