**Position Overview**
The Simulation, Optimization and Systems (SOS) Group at Autodesk Research is looking for a passionate and skilled research intern for Fall 2021 at our Toronto office located in the MaRS Discovery District (due to COVID, this internship may be remote). The ideal intern will conduct research and develop prototype code for a conceptual design tool for large scale frame structures leveraging optimization methods and physical simulation. We are researching novel tools that will allow designers, architects and structural engineers to rapidly prototype efficient large-scale frame structures with computational support, closing the gap between design and construction

**Responsibilities**:

- Benchmark, test, and extend the capabilities of this toolbox
- Write documentation of the work carried out, either as part of an academic publication or for internal communication
- Contribute to the technical expertise of the SOS Group

**Minimum Qualifications**:

- Currently pursuing an advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics, the Engineering sciences, or other related disciplines
- Experience and excellent knowledge of C++ programming and scientific libraries
- Experience in geometry, optimization and computer graphics
- Experience in computational engineering physics or computational engineering design
- Experience in documenting scientific findings
