**Job Description**:
**Position Summary**

Nexthink’s success hinges on the continued evolution and scaling of its next generation, cloud-native platform that it delivered earlier this year. You will take ownership of the platform architecture and lead a team of senior architects primarily located in Lausanne, Switzerland who have developed the architectural foundation of Nexthink’s platform.

The VP/Chief Architect will report to the CTO and work closely with the heads of Product, Engineering, SRE and Security in evolving and scaling Nexthink’s industry-leading, digital employee experience platform. The person will also work with customers and the field in positioning the strengths of Nexthink’s architecture.

**Key Responsibilities**

Working closely with the leadership team, you will have day-to-day, hands-on responsibility for driving the architectural direction of the platform. You will play a key technical leadership role for Nexthink.

The Chief Architect’s responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Develop an architecture roadmap to drive the scale, resiliency, and functionality of Nexthink’s platform.
- Partner with product management and engineering to understand and plan for future product releases that deliver on the architectural and product roadmap
- Work with Executive Management to understand business drivers, market requirements, and competitive issues that may impact platform direction
- Take a hands-on role in the design and architecture of key components of the platform
- Create an extended team of high-performance architects within engineering that deliver on the architecture team’s platform vision
- Recruit, retain and motivate a high-performance architecture team.

**Qualifications**:

- Degree in Computer Science or Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- 10+ years’ experience in hands-on, software architecture leadership roles
- Demonstrated experience in designing and delivering a large-scale, high-performance, cloud-native platform to market
- Experience working in high growth SaaS, product-based companies
- In-depth knowledge of microservices-based cloud architectures and cloud native environments - especially those involving high volume data pipelines and data analytics
- Strong expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, Kafka-based architecture. Experience in building high volume data pipeline architectures involving relational and columnar databases at scale.
- Experience in endpoint or other agent-based data acquisition software technology related to IoT, APM, Security or Networks is an advantage
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- A keen understanding of how to take architectural vision to production in an Agile software engineering environment
- Excellent communication in English
