OBU EUCAN (Europe and Canada) Region is a catalyst to the continued and future growth of our Oncology business at AstraZeneca. We seek dedicated medical leadership for our franchises across functions and markets, improving the regional potential of our leading Oncology portfolio, delivering medical excellence in close collaboration with a wide variety of partners. We are seeking a **Head of Oncology Medical: Nordics/CEEBA/WESE** to join us in Zug, Switzerland
The Head of Oncology Medical is a key leadership position responsible for strengthening AstraZeneca’s Oncology Medical footprint in 24 countries: Nordics sub-region (Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Finland), CEEBA (Central, Eastern Europe and Baltic Countries) and WESE (Western and Southern Europe). This position is a member of the EUCAN Medical Leadership Team and provides strategic direction across all core medical practices from Evidence Generation, medical communication, building strategic alliances and external partnerships through to launch readiness.
**What You'll Do**:
- Define, develop and implement a coordinated and timely medical strategy and plan for Nordics/CEEBA/WESE Regions, supporting current and future life cycle of the AZ Oncology portfolio and launches across CEBA/WESE
- Partner closely with Commercial Leaders to agree and identify key Medical deliverables to support the annual commercial business plan, ensuring measurable and meaningful key performance indicators are in place to measure contribution and impact
- Develop alignments among cross-functional teams: marketing, sales, market access, regulatory affairs, clinical research (SM&M), compliance, training, patient affairs to achieve the goals of the Oncology Teams
- Drive and develop Medical capability and innovation
- Provide oncology research and practical clinical expertise, to ensure greater efficiency, integration and adoption of our innovative Oncology products
- Identify and initiate required evidence activities
- Represent the needs of the Nordics/CEEBA/WESE areas at the EUCAN Medical Regional level at a Global Medical level, ensuring the needs to the region are taken into consideration from Global Tumor Medical Teams, Medical Excellence, Evidence & Generation and R&D (SMM)
**Minimum Qualifications**:
- Advanced Scientific degree (PhD, PharmD) or equivalent medical/scientific/industry qualifications
- At least 10 years of effective Medical Affairs experience in the pharmaceutical industry
- Proven track record of leadership success and experience in leading an impactful medical affairs team
- Comprehensive understanding of the development and commercialization process of pharmaceutical products, globally, regionally and within local markets
- Strong interpersonal, communication and influencing skills with the ability to encourage, mentor, and develop others
**Desired Qualifications**:
- MD preferred
- Preferably at least 5 years of oncology experience within Medical Affairs
- Expansive knowledge of the sophisticated Healthcare environment across the EUCAN Region, specific knowledge experience of CEEBA and/or WESE
