Job description
3Brain is looking for a full-time Field Application Scientist for its Italian office

(Genova) who will work with our scientific team to support customer projects,

answer technical questions, and find creative approaches to solve customer

will be involved in technical support comprising data analysis and ICT aspects

as well as in cell culture laboratory routines and experimental activities. The

closely with customers, performing lab activities to explore new biological

activities.

Main responsibilities:

- Develop an extensive experimental knowledge of the 3Brain’s products and
- Support customer’s needs regarding technical, ICT and scientific aspects.
- Collect information about customer experience and provide regular follow

up to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Process experimental results, perform statistical analysis, prepare, and

present reports.
- Perform experimental tests with diverse cell preparations and cell models

(e.g., brain slices, cultures, spheroids, organoids) on 3Brain’s measurement

systems.
- Perform lab activities as for example cell culture thawing, differentiation

and maintenance.
- Organization of daily research activities, managing project priorities and

deadlines, identifying, and resolving instrumentation issues.
- Scientific consulting and technical support activities for our customers,

travel to customer sites.
- Provide remote and on-site training and support to customers while

performing experiments on 3Brain’s system.
- Support sales activities by providing technical consulting and by organizing

and performing on-site or remote system demo.
- Support HW and SW R&D team in validating and testing new prototypes

with biological models.
- Attend conferences, congress, and trade shows.

- Required Qualifications- Master/PhD degree in biomedical engineering / biomedical sciences /

molecular biology.
- Deep knowledge of ICT and at least one programming or scripting language

(e.g., Python, C++...)
- 2+ years of laboratory experience in cell culturing or related field.

- Knowledgeable about statistical analysis tools.
- Proficient working in a Windows environment.
- Full proficiency or mother tongue in English.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively to diverse audiences through

both written and oral communications.
- Highly motivated self-starter and problem solver.
- Additional Qualifications- Experience with either microelectrode array (MEA), calcium imaging or

patch-clamp recordings.
- Strong molecular and biochemical background.
- 1+ years of laboratory experience on cell-based assays for compound

screening.
