Assistant Scientist R&D Biotechnology

**Work Location**: Satigny (Geneva), Switzerland

**Key Responsibilities**:
Identification and characterization of novel enzymes and biosynthetic pathways for the synthesis of new and known target compounds

Perform small-scale microbial cultivations and bio-transformations including their analytical follow-up

Identify technical limitations and actively propose solutions

Thoroughly document the experimental work in a laboratory notebook

Comply with HS&E procedures and proactively contribute to improve laboratory safety

**We Value**:
MSc degree in molecular biology, biochemistry or related discipline, or other training leading to equivalent qualification (e.g. CFC/EFZ Biology plus relevant experience)

Strong expertise in molecular biology, microbiology, and strain engineering

Hands-on experience in small molecule analytics beneficial (GC, GC-MS, HPLC)

Basic knowledge in bioinformatics and in laboratory automation systems is a plus

Creative, open-minded, critical, autonomous personality

Team player

Fluent in English or French, willingness to learn the other language
