Associate Director to Director, Global Medical

Overview:
Job Summary (Primary function)

The Associate Director, Global Medical Communications (GMC), delivers timely and high-quality global scientific content, and manages Incyte’s internal medical education platform.

The position is office-based in Morges, Switzerland.

Essential Functions of the Job (Key responsibilities)
- Deliver high quality and expediency in the development and distribution of core medical and scientific materials to both internal and external customers; materials include medical decks, medical Q&A documents, trial cards, infographics, congress materials, and training modules.
- Lead discussions and collaborate with regional counterparts and other functions to identify needs, coordinate efforts, and ensure content alignment
- Write, edit, and format GMC materials, and manage external supporting agencies as needed
- Manage the review of deliverables with Incyte reviewers
- Maintain tactical plans and contribute to budgeting
- Manage Incyte’s global internal medical education platform: identify appropriate training resources, ensure coherence of material location and definitions, develop newsletters, and manage platform maintenance as needed
- Develop and maintain a high level of scientific expertise on the Incyte assets and therapeutic areas through continuous monitoring of the scientific literature and attendance to medical conferences
- Contribute as needed to the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures

Qualifications (Minimal acceptable level of education, work experience, and competency)
- Advanced degree in a scientific discipline (e.g., Ph.D, Pharm.D.)
- Minimum 4 years of experience within the pharmaceutical industry or a medical communications agency in the field of scientific content, medical communications, and/or medical information. Writing experience is essential.
- Ability to effectively communicate complex medical/scientific information and contribute to medical strategy.
- High attention to details and scientific rigor.
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple projects with superior organization skills
- Ability to respond to urgent timelines
- Ability to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal and customer-oriented skills.
- Experience in Oncology and/or Inflammation and Auto-Immunity is a plus.
- Experience in medical education and/or in managing a training site/platform is a plus.
- Understanding of legal requirements, regulatory issues, codes of practice and guidelines as relevant to the provision of medical data communication and scientific exchange is a plus.
- Travel is estimated to be less than 10% of time. Most of the travel activity will be in the U.S. and Europe. Travel will include - but will not be limited to: major international conferences, and internal company meetings.
