Company Description
MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.
METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.
**Job Description**:
- Drive the development and execution of short-term asset optimization strategies (DA & ID)
- Collaborate with the Asset Division to implement commercial decision-making and optimization logic to the front office trading platform
- Implement and test algorithmically executed trading strategies (asset-backed and speculative) and algo-trading platform for intraday power markets
- Work closely with trading system developers, structured traders, and power trading operators to enhance ETRM and short-term position management system integration onto the trading platform
- Roll out trading platform suites to new countries of operation
- Take ownership for intra-day trading book position and PnL management
- Focus markets: CEE with growth opportunities to CWE and SWE regions as asset portfolio expands
**Qualifications**:
- Strong educational background in a relevant field (e.g., finance, economics, engineering)
- Proven experience as a power trader, preferably 2-5 years in short-term power
- Sound knowledge of power markets, including supply-demand dynamics, pricing mechanisms, and regulatory frameworks
- Proficient in using trading platforms and market analysis tools
- Analytical mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to work under pressure and make quick decisions in a fast-paced trading environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
