**Director Group Government Relations and Public Affairs**:

Government Relations & Public Affairs (GRPA) is ABB’s center of expertise and competence for ABB’s relations and dealings with governments and public officials. In this role you will be responsible to support ABB’s business strategy and plan, as well as public policy and advocacy on diverse issues, including energy, climate change, decarbonization, electrification, trade, sustainability, and others in Switzerland and globally. This position reports to ABB’s Group Head of Government Relations and Public Affairs and is based in Switzerland.

**Your responsibilities**:

- Lead senior executive participation in government relations and public affairs activities for events around the world.
- Develop and implement GRPA strategy in Switzerland to support ABB Group and its decentralized businesses. Develop and maintain relationships with government officials and civil society stakeholders in Switzerland.
- Oversee participation in associations and bodies in Switzerland and globally that are important to ABB with the goal of influencing legislation, standards and policies, in close co-ordination with internal ABB stakeholders.
- Drive ABB Group public policy position development for diverse topics.
- Participate in ABB GRPA internal governance bodies.
- Support integrity culture in GRPA and model highest standards of behavior in interactions with government and policy stakeholders. Uphold and reinforce ABB’s policies and standards. Ensure that government relations activities protect and strengthen ABB’s brand, reputation and business activities.

**Your background**:

- University degree, preferably master’s level, MBA a plus.
- 10+ years of experience in government relations, public affairs, or similar roles. Experience working in the Swiss political environment required.
- In-depth knowledge of global issues (e.g.: energy, trade and climate change) and international affairs; good understanding of business and economics, and the policy and law-making process. Experience with EU affairs helpful.
- Solutions oriented mindset, structured, gets things done and on time.
- Excellent interpersonal, communications and advocacy skills to influence, negotiate and persuade.
- Demonstrated experience working with senior executives.
- Strong team player.
- Interested in the business and driven by contributing to company success. Strong business acumen.
- Strong inner drive to make a difference and contribute.
- Fluent English required, as well as German or French.
