**Minimum qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Experience writing machine learning code, prototyping with machine learning models, working with transformer, as well as transformer alternatives like SSMs and modern RNNs models.
- One or more scientific publication submission(s) for conferences, journals, or public repositories.
- Publications record in neural networks, machine learning, neural network accelerator, neuromorphic hardware or (computational) neuroscience.

**Preferred qualifications**:

- PhD in Machine-Learning related area or related field.
- Experience writing ML code, serving large ML models, and serving large-scale models.
- Experience in writing high profile scientific publications at conferences (NeurIPS, Nature).
- Expert in neural network theory, neuromorphic hardware, and/or computational neuroscience.
- Expert in hardware aware design of neural networks/neuromorphic hardware.

As a Research Scientist, you'll also actively contribute to the wider research community by sharing and publishing your findings, with ideas inspired by internal projects as well as from collaborations with research programs at partner universities and technical institutes all over the world.

Make groundbreaking advances in the field of intelligence as a scientific paradigm, working across diverse methodologies and disciplines, so that we can develop radical new technologies and evolve/expand our collective understanding of intelligence.

We plan to use evolution and other automated approaches exploring the ways to find new ML methods, NCAs, local learning, automated search, differential architecture search, and other approaches.

**Responsibilities**:

- Be able to author research papers to share and generate impact of research results across the team and in the research community.
- Help in growing research business across teams by sharing research trends and best practices within the community.
- Define the data structure, framework, design, and evaluation metrics for research solution development and implementation under mínimal guidance. Identify timelines and obtain resources needed.
- Identify new and upcoming research areas by interacting with potential external and internal collaborators. Help develop long-term research strategy and plans to expand the impact of Google research with some guidance.
