Johnson & Johnson DePuy Synthes Supply Chain a member of the Johnson & Johnson Family of Companies is recruiting for a Manager Design for Value - Strategy and Innovation We are open to consider the role to be based at any one of our DePuy Synthes sites, with preference for the following countries - US; Switzerland; Ireland.

The Manager - Strategy and Innovation, is responsible for connecting product utilization data to early stage-gate installation design recommendations for DePuy Synthes (DPS) and is directly accountable for the seamless integration of Commercial, R&D, and Supply Chain. He/she will work cross-functionally to implement data-driven initiatives that ensure business continuity, quality, compliance, and supplier delivery of more efficient set design for our Commercial stakeholders. This role is responsible to execute and monitor both tactical and continuous improvement initiatives in the areas of R&D, New Product Introduction, Supply Chain, Commercial, and Plan. This Manager is expected to lead the resolution of both short-term and structural issues within our New Product Development roadmap, resulting in more efficient Supply Chain execution strategies resulting in a more streamlined and meaningful Commercial deployment. In addition, will be capable of managing, coaching, and developing a small team of professional-level associates.

**Principal Responsibilities**:

- Responsible for developing, analyzing, and implementing a data-driven pilot through our Commercial lens validating product utilization to properly impact future set design recommendations within our New Product Development pipeline
- Ensure demand sensing technologies within our operating rooms meets the regulatory, customer, and patient requirements of DPS
- Upon leveraging data findings through demand sensing technologies ensure the design of New Product Developments are informed and directed to more efficient set designs
- As a representative of DPS, ensure the R&D and NPD spaces have the necessary information to deliver quality products more efficiently to our Commercial stakeholders to deploy within our operating rooms. This includes the reduction of outlier products from our tray layouts which are rarely used within a surgical technique.
- Monitor and develop data collecting mechanisms along with key performance indicators (KPI’s) such as utilization, bell-curve analyses, systemic size backorders, lead-time reductions, and Commercial alignments
- Support the development and implementation of proactive risk mitigation activities with both the New Product Development and their extended supply chain partners
- Represent Supply Chain to internal stakeholders as part of the STEM (short-term event management) and Supply Chain Launch Readiness processes to prioritize & manage the resolution of supply issues for efficient set designs
- Provide input into the DPS EM/ExOps Supply S&OP process
- Coordinate the short, medium, and long-term synchronization of supply and demand for their group of early stage-gate stakeholders.
- Ensure organizationally aligned incentives between DPS and the EM and escalate opportunities for enhancement
- Facilitate cross-functional decision making as it pertains to trade-offs within the Commercial and Marketing networks
- Oversight and communication of attainable recommendations for efficient set designs based on demand sensing findings of legacy and New Product Introductions
- Collaborates in the following areas: inventory, service, and cost optimization, Commercial, lead time reduction, optimization of suppliers and vendors, capacity analysis, scenario planning, account targeting performance measurement, and annual business planning cycle
- Overtime, be capable of building a team of approximately 1-3 professionals who would be responsible for implementing demand sensing technologies and acting as change agents including Commercial and R&D stakeholder relationship management. Ensure strong results through effective performance management, development planning, and ongoing engagement.
- Help to resolve more Supply Chain transparency within early stage-gate discussions before Supply Chain Readiness are involved, typically around Stage-Gate A-C
- Coach, guide and support the team as it relates to set design efficiencies, critical decision making, and communications
- Execute strong people leadership through talent strategy using JNJs 5 conversations framework

**Qualifications**
Education**:
A minimum of a Bachelor’s or equivalent University Degree is required with a Business-related field of study, Supply Chain, Logistics Sciences or Engineering field preferred

**Required**:

- 8-10 years (6-8 years with MBA) of direct experience within Data Analytics, Commercial Operations, Planning, or New Product Development, preferably within the medical device industry
- Minimum of 8 years relevant work experience
- Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally
- Demonstrated track record of coaching, mentor
