**Section Manager/ Group Leader for Cells team (W/M)**:
**Your mission**:
The aim of the EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world’s first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.

**Main duties and responsibilities include**:

- Lead the Cells Group of the BBP in:

- Producing canonical biophysically detailed models of single neurons for various brain regions and systems, in collaboration with engineering teams
- Curating and producing morphologies of single neurons for various brain regions and systems, in collaboration with engineering teams
- Software development of tools and automation pipelines for single cell
- Lead, develop, coordinate and evaluate the BBP Cells Group
- Define the scientific and technical roadmap of the BBP Cells Group in accordance with the project's and division's objectives and roadmaps, and in collaboration with BBP’s scientific and engineering teams
- Represent the BBP Cells group's efforts in scientific contexts
- Coordinate with other section managers and group leaders at the BBP
- Participate and organize group meetings and other research-related events
- Participate in the writing of scientific articles and other documents related to the research activities
- Provide technical leadership to the BBP Cells Group, and thereby champion all aspects of the modern software development life-cycle

**Your profile**:

- PhD in Neuroscience or equivalent experience
- 3 to 5 years of experience in management of scientific teams
- Strong publication record in related scientific domains
- Experience in biophysical neuron modelling and detailed neuron morphologies
- Strong team player and fluent English in speech and writing
- Good experience in Python programming
- Experience in other programming languages and software development (unit testing, continuous integration, version control, debugging and documentation)
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral
- Proven ability to work both independently and in team-based environments
