Junior Bioinformatician Intern

Complete an internship project at SOPHiA GENETICS whose mission is to build the future of AI-assisted medicine, joining the Bioinformatics Services Team as a Junior Bioinformatician Intern.

**Your mission**:
You will be involved in supporting the client-facing bioinformatics team by analyzing data from clients in the process of implementing a SOPHiA-powered assay - i.e. clients going through MaxCare programs. This includes running NGS pipelines, curating variants, and assisting in the creation of client-facing presentations.

**You will be involved in**:

- Receiving training on MaxCare programs, including NGS pipeline operations and release procedures.
- Running NGS pipelines for MaxCare programs to support accurate variant analysis.
- Curating and analyzing confirmed variants submitted by MaxCare users, leveraging the non-regression system.
- Assisting in preparing client-facing presentations for the MaxCare program.
- Joining MaxCare client calls in an observer role to gain firsthand experience with client interactions.

**Requirements**:
**The experience you bring**:

- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Life Science, Biology or Bioinformatics
- Proficient in version control systems, specifically Git.
- Comfortable using the command line for task execution and automation.
- Experience with NGS data analysis is a plus.
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
- Ability to prioritize the tasks effectively, and work both independently and as part of a team.
