Head of Internal Audit

We’re excited to offer this new role to a passionate, business-oriented, pragmatic and proactive individual with internal audit experience who has demonstrated the ability to grow and manage a diverse and complex workload while maintaining priorities independently and proactively anticipating issues. Your mission is to shape, implement, and lead the internal audit function of the fastest-growing sports company of its time. This includes developing and implementing a risk-based internal audit plan, conducting audits, and reporting the results and recommendations to management, the audit committee and the board of directors. You will work closely with other departments to identify and assess risks and evaluate the effectiveness and compliance of our global operations and the effectiveness of internal controls. You will also be responsible for building up and managing a team of internal auditors, providing guidance and direction as needed.

This role is part of the Group Finance Leadership team, collaborating closely with Finance and Legal and regularly reporting to the Chairman of the Audit Committee.
Your Mission:
- Create and grow the internal audit function based on a value-creating mission through risk
- and data-based auditing, clear communication, and visible leadership
- Ensure a forward-looking single view and understanding of critical risks across the Oniverse
- Develop and implement a risk-based annual internal audit plan that covers all areas of On’s global operations and governance processes
- Conduct audits to objectively assess the adequacy of governance and management of existing risks, effectiveness and efficiency of operational and financial processes and controls, compliance with laws and regulations, and identify areas for improvement
- Establish clear lines of reporting to senior leadership and the board/audit committee
- Support scoping efforts for management’s SOX assessment and create report on final assessment of internal controls over financial reporting for each year-end for management and audit committee review;
- Collaborate with other departments to identify and assess risks and assess the effectiveness of On’s internal controls over financial reporting in accordance with SOX compliance requirements
- Coordinate with external auditors including how best to leverage the work performed and results produced from Internal Audit’s work
- Attract, hire, and retain a team of high-performing audit professionals who possess outstanding knowledge, experience, ethics, and integrity, providing guidance and direction as needed
- Ensure that Internal Audit is performing its work in accordance with established professional standards and remain abreast of emerging trends and best practices that can be incorporated into the function
- Ensure Internal Audit’s participation in critical business and technology initiatives and projects ensuring that audit’s perspective is effectively voiced and appropriate controls are designed and implemented on a proactive basis
- Ensure compliance with relevant laws, regulations, and professional standards
Your Story:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
- Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or Chartered Accountant (CA) required
- A minimum of 10 years of experience in audit (internal audit preferred) or accounting, including in an SEC environment, and at least three years in a leadership role
- Strong knowledge of internal audit standards, best practices and the COSO Framework
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Strong planning and time management
- Ability to analyze complex data and present findings clearly and concisely
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills
- Ability to lead and manage a team effectively
