Working for an enterprise at the cutting-edge of science, we feel a huge sense of pride in our potential to transform the lives of patients with unmet needs. **What you will **do**: In this role you, you will execute and further develop AZs Corporate Affairs Strategy in Switzerland, with a focus on policy and governmental affairs. The purpose of this role is to ensure public policies appropriately recognize and reward the benefits our innovation delivers to patients, their families, to healthcare systems and to society on a whole. You will work hand in hand with an experienced cross-functional team (matrix leadership, no direct reports). You will be responsible to map and evaluate health policy developments in Switzerland and abroad and develop concrete policy proposals, positions and strategies to implement them. You will represent AZ in related trade association working groups and other organizations, build & maintain strong partnerships and closely collaborate with relevant external stakeholders. You will work in a small team and report to the Corporate Affairs Director Switzerland. **Other responsibilities will **include**: - Maps health policy developments and assesses their impact on AZ; summarises political initiatives and anticipates trends at the attention of the Senior Leadership Team as well as headquarters while identifying and suggesting value-adding opportunities. - Maps key stakeholder (groups) by assessing their needs and interests. Identifies and initiates collaboration opportunities. - Leads the execution and further development of a comprehensive policy and government affairs strategy for AZ Switzerland, aligned with local and global priorities. - Leads the elaboration of policy proposals and positions for AZ’s policy priorities, incl. messaging and supporting evidence, in close local/global cross-functional alignment. - Builds and maintains long term relationships with key stakeholders in the Swiss healthcare system - Drives policy projects and initiatives - Leads trade association collaboration across all AZ representatives, ensuring one-voice communication. - Staffs Senior Leadership team members for their committee work and targeted events - Budget responsibility **Essential for the **role**: - Master or Doctoral Degree in Law, International Relations, Health Policy, Health Economics, Economics, Medicine, Nursing, Pharmaceutical Science or Public Health. - 4-7 years’ experience in the (preferably Swiss) healthcare system, w/i the pharmaceutical industry, in public administration, diplomacy and/or Swiss politics. - Strong existing network in Swiss health policy ecosystem and established access to key stakeholders and organizations. - Sound understanding of the Swiss health policy ecosystem (politicians, parties, key organisations) and current pharma political developments (on federal/cantonal, parliament and health authorities’ levels). - Ability and hunger to quickly familiarize with scientific, medical, political and economic content as well as legal/regulatory frameworks and compliance guidelines. - Independent working, strong ownership of assigned projects, works with a high degree of energy and creativity in delivering on-time (in a fast paced corporate and cross-functional environment). - High resilience, growth mindset and learning agility. - “Hands-on" mindset to drive a creative, proactive and spirited corporate affairs approach for AstraZeneca Switzerland. Works action-oriented, efficiently and methodically. - Strong conceptual, strategic, analytical, negotiation and persuasion skills. Ability to prioritize and manage multiple/complex tasks. - Experience in collaborating effectively with external stakeholder, public relations agencies and other suppliers. - Strong in preparing high quality texts and presentations for external and internal audiences (German or French, English). - Proficiency in English as well as in German or French (writing and speaking). Fluent/comfortable in 2nd Swiss national language (speaking). Swiss German is an asset. **Desirable for the** role**: - Strong understanding and operational experience of Swiss/foreign Pricing and Reimbursement systems. - Understanding/experience for Health Economic Outcomes Research. - Understanding for regulatory (marketing authorization) processes. - Leadership experience - Experience in intern
