**Role Summary**:
The Regional Director Medical Affairs (RDMA) in the EMEAC Region (Europe, Middle East, Africa & Canada) will be responsible for driving execution of scientific & medical affairs plans for Pipeline & Innovative Strategies in the region with a strong focus on European Countries. The RDMA is an impactful member of regional cross-functional teams, including regional Commercial, Center of Real-World Evidence (CORE), Policy and Market Access. They engage with their network of scientific leaders in their region.
This is a position based in Europe and the RDMA should reside in one of the regional affiliates.
**Responsibilities and Primary Activities**:
- Guides country Medical Affairs staff to execute the annual scientific & medical plan for Pipeline & Innovative Strategies
- Chairs the Regional Medical Affairs Team (RMAT) to ensure execution of agreed medical tactics and leverage best practices
- Ensures all scientific exchange for the Oncology Pipeline is aligned with a single global scientific communications platform
- Partners with regional Commercial, regional Center of Real-World Evidence (CORE), regional Policy and regional Market Access to drive development and execution of regional plans
- Consolidates actionable medical insights from countries within the region
- Engages with Scientific Leaders (SL) and other key regional stakeholders (therapeutic guideline committees, payers, public groups, government officials, medical societies) consistent with company policy
- Supports, as regional expert, affiliate staff in engaging with their national scientific leaders
- Drives regional expert input events (Advisory Boards), and participates in key country expert input events as appropriate
- Organizes regional symposia and educational meetings
- Supports countries with the development of local data generation study concepts and protocols
- Reviews investigator-initiated study proposals prior to headquarters submission
- Manages regional programs (patient support, educational or risk management) to support appropriate and safe utilization of our medicines
**Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience**:
- MD, PhD or PharmD (MD preferred) and recognized medical and scientific expertise in the field of Oncology
- Five+ years’ experience in country / regional Medical Affairs
- Strong prioritization and decision-making skills
- Able to effectively collaborate with partners across divisions in a matrix environment
- Excellent interpersonal, analytical, communication (written as well as oral) skills, in addition to results-oriented project management skills
