Company Description

MET International AG (METI) was established in 2010 in order to consolidate and develop MET Group’s international natural gas sales and purchase portfolio, as well as to establish a trading arm for commodity lines.

METI is responsible for providing highly competitive supply structures to its gas and power sales affiliates, optimizing its power generation assets, managing the LNG portfolio, and trading around international positions.

**Job Description**:

- Physical optimisation of the spot portfolio (Germany, Netherlands, Belgium, France, Italy, Austria)
- Coordination with the Portfolio Management team to maximize the optimization value and ensure the correct nomination and capacity booking
- Trading to deliver material P&L from the portfolio using physical assets, wholesale market trading and the balancing mechanisms
- Lead testing and implementation of new products and assets onto the desk
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations
- Deliver improvements to the algorithmic trading strategies

**Qualifications**:

- Extensive experience and understanding of the Spot market and Balancing Mechanism, managing a variety of physical assets (including 24/7 strategies)
- Minimum 2 years of Prompt Trading experience (screen trading)
- Logistics experience is a plus
- Excellent analytical skills with a very strong attention to detail
- Demonstrable ability to solve problems quickly and efficiently under pressure, with the confidence to take ownership of issues and managing them till the resolution
- Self-starter, able to effectively multi-task and prioritise their own workload and the wider team’s deliverables
- Experience trading on exchanges and using an ETRM; a qualification to trade on relevant exchanges
- Commercially focused and able to demonstrate management of risks and delivering value
- Team player with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Experienced user of IT systems, skilled in MS office and preferably the ability to write programming code
