Ittf Head of Equipment

The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF), founded in 1926, is the world-governing body of the sport of table tennis with 227 member Associations in the world. The ITTF supervises the staging of World Championships annually, and several other world title events. Around 120 international tournaments are sanctioned by the ITTF yearly. Its main function is to govern and develop the sport for the benefit of over thirty million competitive players in all parts of the world.

Table Tennis is an Olympic and Paralympic sport and is in the programme of the Summer Olympic and Paralympic Games as well as of all Multisport Games.

The ITTF is seeking a Head of Equipment to professionalise the management, development and research of all ITTF related equipment.

**THE ITTF GROUP**:The ITTF Group consists of three entities, namely:

- The International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF)
- World Table Tennis (WTT) and the
- ITTF Foundation

The ITTF GROUP plays a consultative and supportive role in the operations and performance of all functions across all three entities with a focus on the management of ITTF related matters.

**SERVICES**:The ITTF wishes to retain the selected person, on a non-exclusive basis, to act as an independent consultant to provide to the ITTF the services described below.

**REMUNERATION**:The ITTF Head of Equipment will be paid a remuneration, based on skillset, experience, and place of residency.

They undertake to respect all fiscal and social legislation, particularly those in force in his/her country of residence. In particular, the ITTF will not pay any social charges, as they will be acting in an independent capacity.

**LOCATION**:The position will be preferably based in one of the ITTF offices in Switzerland, Germany or Singapore, but other flexible arrangements will be considered. Applicants should be willing to work as required rather than regular office hours.

**MANAGER**:The ITTF Head of Equipment will report to the ITTF Group CEO.

**MAIN RESPONSIBILITY**:The successful applicant will be responsible for the professionalization of the management, development and research of all ITTF related equipment.

**DUTIES:
**Equipment General Duties
- Ensure all invoicing in relation to equipment approval fees, and equipment testing fees, are processed accordingly
- Liaise with the Testing Institutes for the administration of the racket coverings, balls, nets, tables and sports floors testing
- Ensure all lists of ITTF Approved Equipment are prepared and available in a timely manner
- Maintain a database of Manufacturers
- Co-ordinate in enhancing the equipment section of the ITTF website
- Follow up on illegal uses of the ITTF logo and use of non approved equipment at ITTF events
- Issue and deliver equipment certificates
- Co-ordinate accreditation of FIT members for the WTTC and provide support to FIT members on site

**Equipment Committee Support**
- Provide support to the Equipment Committee Members, as requested
- Provide support to the Equipment Committee in updating the Technical Leaflets, preparing resolutions to the AGM / BoD and other documents
- Attend the Equipment Committee meetings and ensure administrative support is available
- Demonstrate a clear understanding of the ITTF Group competition calendar, from national events through to the Olympic Games, which is confirmed in suitable time with no conflicting events, through collaborative and regular dialogue with Continental Federations, National Associations and club league’s representatives

**Technical Area and Research**
- Implement equipment policies following the Equipment Committee and EC guidelines: new system of approvals / authorisations, changes in Technical Leaflets etc.
- Assist in solving all problems related to ITTF Approved Equipment.

**SELECTION CRITERIA**:
**Essential Criteria**
- University Degree in a relevant field
- Experience in table tennis industry will be considered an advantage
- Proven experience of collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team in an elite sport environment
- Strong track record of working through others to deliver results, of influencing behaviour change and impacting on progression
- Strong track record of developing effective working relationships with multiple partners, stakeholders and providers
- Strong command of English language, written and spoken. Other languages will be considered an advantage

**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience within the sport of Table Tennis
