**Position Overview**

We are seeking an **Sr Pr Equipment Development Technician**to support the design, automation, acquisition, qualification, and maintenance of production equipment for medical devices. The role ensures equipment reliability, compliance with regulatory standards, and alignment with Medtronic’s Maintenance Excellence (MEX) strategy.

**Key Responsibilities**

**Design & Development**
- Contribute to the development of specialized manufacturing equipment for medical device fabrication.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define User Requirement Specifications (URS) for new equipment.
- Partner with third-party manufacturers to oversee the design, production, and customization of equipment.
- Define equipment architecture standards, including hardware, safety, and ergonomics.

**Validation & Testing**
- Manage and conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) to validate equipment functionality and compliance.
- Support equipment installation and execute qualification protocols (IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Assist in software and control system testing during equipment qualification.

**Automation & Process Improvement**
- Conduct and support equipment FMEAs (eFMEA).
- Perform troubleshooting, corrective, and preventive maintenance on mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and automated systems (PLC, HMI, robotics, sensors).
- Integrate automation solutions into manufacturing processes to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and scalability.
- Collaborate with engineers to optimize automation sequences, improve cycle times, and increase reliability.
- Continuously identify and implement process improvements to optimize equipment performance and reduce costs.
- Strengthen collaboration and connection with the Maintenance team to ensure smooth transitions.
- Stay informed about the latest advancements in automation technologies and manufacturing best practices.

**Maintenance Excellence (MEX)**
- Lead the MEX Roadmap pillar _Early Equipment Management (EEM) _.
- Track and analyze equipment performance metrics to identify recurring issues and implement sustainable corrective actions until pass-off to Manufacturing ownership.
- Develop and lead preventive and predictive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime.
- Actively support continuous improvement initiatives and standardization of best practices across equipment and sites.

**Documentation & Compliance**
- Maintain detailed and accurate documentation for all equipment development activities, including maintenance procedures, troubleshooting guides, and training modules (covering all users, from Operator to Engineer).
- Ensure that all equipment and associated processes meet regulatory standards, including FDA, ISO 13485, GMP, and other applicable regulations.
- Participate in audits and regulatory inspections as a technical expert.

**Travel Requirements**
- Be flexible to travel up to 15% of the time to visit manufacturing sites, third-party vendors, and participate in on-site testing and validation activities.

**Qualifications**
- Technical diploma or equivalent experience in electromechanics, automation, or related field.
- Requires minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in equipment installation, testing, automation troubleshooting, or maintenance.
- Knowledge of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, and robotics.
- Understanding of equipment qualification protocols (URS, FAT, SAT, IQ, OQ, PQ).
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Familiarity with GMP, ISO, FDA, and MEX standards.
- Ability to work in a team environment and communicate effectively.

**TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM**:Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development. Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems. Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.
