**Your mission**:
The aim of the EPFL Blue Brain Project (BBP), a Swiss brain research initiative founded and directed by Professor Henry Markram, is to establish simulation neuroscience as a complementary approach alongside experimental, theoretical and clinical neuroscience to understanding the brain, by building the world’s first biologically detailed digital reconstructions and simulations of the mouse brain.

- **Astrocyte and Vascular Postdoctoral Scholar W/M** is open to reinforce the Molecular Systems team.
**Main duties and responsibilities include**:
The Blue Brain Project at EPFL is looking for a Postdoctoral Scholar with competence and experiences in cellular or reaction modelling as well as computational geometry. Knowledge of python and C++ is required. This position involves incorporating and modelling astrocytes from various brain regions within the context of a large-scale brain simulation.
**Your profile**:
- PhD in Science or Engineering
- Knowledge of numerical solution of differential equations is necessary.
- Familiarity with modern software practices such as automated continuous integration, code review and documentation, and collaborative software development is also advantageous.
- Willingness and demonstrated ability to actively collaborate and work with other scientists and engineers is also desirable.
- Fluent communication in English (written and spoken).
