Job Purpose
COFCO International’s fleet of dry bulk carriers supports commodity trading with maritime logistics and risk management around the world. We operate our chartering and proprietary trading operations from our offices in Geneva and Singapore. For our Geneva office, we are looking for an experienced Global Freight Controller who will play a crucial role in managing and optimizing our global freight operations. This position requires a strategic thinker with excellent problem-solving skills, who can handle the complexities of international logistics within our sector.

**Responsibilities**:
Oversee and coordinate all aspects of international freight operations from a financial perspective.
Analyze freight costs and operational expenses to identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements.
Prepare and present detailed financial reports and forecasts related to freight operations to senior management.
Coordinate the monthly closing activities in both trading and accounting systems (IMOS / SAP respectively) to ensure timely financial reporting.
Be the main point of contact for internal and external auditors when those are reviewing the Global Freight activity.
Monitor and report on key performance indicators, providing insights and recommendations for cost control and optimization.
Conduct variance analysis to understand deviations from the budget and take corrective actions.
Ensure accurate and timely recording of freight expenses, including accruals and prepayments.
Reconcile freight accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
Maintain comprehensive records of all freight transactions and support internal and external audits as needed.
Challenge and analyze Daily PnL and Position variances.
Maintain a high level of collaboration with Traders & Operations teams, being capable to monitor the business activity in a great level of detail
Provide information and support Risk Management team dedicated to the Global Freight activities.
Manage a team of controllers based in Switzerland and at the Freight SSC in Turkey.
Identify, propose and lead process improvement initiatives across the Global Freight activities, particularly within the back office area.
**Requirements**:
Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, logistics, supply chain management, or a related field (master’s degree or CPA preferred).
Minimum of 8-10 years of experience in global freight management, business controlling, and freight accounting, preferably within the agricultural or commodities trading industry.
Experience with agri commodities trading and understanding of market dynamics.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations, customs procedures, and transportation modes.
Good of IFRS rules that impact specifically the Freight/Chartering industry.
Proficiency in financial analysis tools, logistics management software, and data analytics.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities and deadlines.
Self-motivated and energetic.
