About the team you are joining

Part of the Information and Data (I&D) Division, Data Governance team works to define and implement state-of-the-art data practices within our organization to make data and analytics more accessible, trustworthy, and actionable. Our goal is to maximizes the investment in data and analytics initiatives by promoting the proper use of analytics in business processes, ensuring accurate insights based on quality data, reducing risks with security, and guiding the prioritization of projects so the right information is available at the right time.

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Data Governance, the Data Governance & Analytics Intern will contribute to multiple projects related to data governance, quality management, and data stewardship. The role will also involve working on the development of data models, performing quality analysis, and assisting in building data-related processes that support enterprise-wide data governance.

What your day would be like

As part of a collaborative and cross-functional team, you will be involved in multiple projects, assisting different team members based on priorities and ongoing initiatives. Your responsibilities will include:

- Contributing to data governance projects, supporting policy implementation, stewardship models, and compliance efforts.
- Assisting in data quality assessments, performing profiling, validation checks, and helping improve data integrity across systems.
- Supporting metadata management efforts, ensuring proper documentation of data assets and contributing to the company data catalog initiative.
- Working on analytics-related tasks, including helping build dashboards, conducting exploratory analysis, and supporting reporting needs.
- Helping automate and optimize data processes, contributing to improving efficiency in governance and quality monitoring.
- Collaborating with business teams and technical experts, supporting their governance-related needs and providing analysis when needed.

We would love to hear from you if
- A recent Undergraduate or Graduate Degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Operational Research, or a relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of data governance principles, data management frameworks, and data stewardship concepts.
- Experience with SQL, Python, or R for data analysis and validation.
- Familiarity with data visualization and BI tools (e.g., Microsoft Power BI).
- An interest in data quality assessment, metadata management, and data lineage.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with both structured and unstructured data.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to work with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Fluent reading, writing, and speaking abilities in English.
