**Location**:
This position is located at our corporate office in Baar (Zug), Switzerland.

Overview:
The Managing Director - New Openings serves as a member of the Executive Committee and is reporting to the Operating Officer and is responsible for all activities related and leading to the successful openings for the new Aman’s and Janu’s. The main responsibility of this position is to ensure that the key aspects, such as the Aman Standards, the Aman operating concepts, respect of the critical path timeline and budget are in place, aligned and on target whilst also ensuring constructive and effective communication within the core group of Aman executives and likewise with ownership of the various projects.

**Responsibilities**:

- Works closely with the other Executive Committee members to ensure all financial, service standards and employee relation goals are met.
- Reports into the Aman leadership on the overall project statuses on a regular basis, highlighting the critical path of the projects.
- Works closely with Aman Technical Services and Design team to develop and define concepts for the new projects.
- Ensures that clear and specific communication is shared internally with all stakeholders keeping them fully briefed on the progress of the opening operations.
- Has a full and comprehensive understanding of the various legal documents related to the development of the project i.e. Hotel Management Agreement, Technical Services Agreement etc
- Coordinates and directs all aspects of the opening operations (HR, S&M, F&B and Spa OPS, Security and Engineering etc) with the support of division heads and their respective teams.
- Leads the discussion with ownership of the projects regarding all the pre-opening financial aspects (pre-opening budget, proforma targets, first annual operating budget, OSE/FFE budgets etc).
- Leads, with the relevant division head, the discussion with ownership of the projects the Sales, Marketing and PR activities planned to ensure the successful opening
- Leads the discussion with ownership of the projects regarding the various plans for the successful opening of the project - HR manning and local salary and benefit scales and selection of key executives and Aman Santi’s.
- Ensures that the selection process of the key members of the local leadership team is done in a timely manner and addressing both the needs and expectations of Aman and local ownership.
- Ensures with the local leadership team that the guest service Standard Operating Procedures are set, understood and that the appropriate training and development plans are executed in the lead up to the opening (with the support of the global Aman HR team).
- Works with the local leadership team on outlining the soft opening period (dates, what operations will function, testing of various operational aspects etc)
- Maintains close communication with the Managing Directors - Operations and other department/division heads as to projects within their respective regions.
- Responds to complex or ambiguous situations without losing focus of key hotel objectives.
- Works with the Aman opening team Project Manager on agreed objectives and ensure appropriate use of technology (Smartsheet, OneDrive etc) to effectively communicate and influence throughout the organization in a timely, high-impact manner.

Qualifications:

- Relevant professional experience in a similar position and additional experience in General Manager positions in city and resorts properties.
- Manage projects with an aptitude for staying calm and effective under pressure, handling multiple concurrent demands and prioritizing responsibilities
- Excellent public speaking and presentation skills
- ability to see, understand and anticipate medium /long term challenges and potential problems and acting appropriately
- Proven experience of managing and developing teams.
- Strong interpersonal, decision-making, and leadership skills.
