**SGIE Strategy Internship (Engineering/Strategic Growth Initiatives)**:

This Intern Position combines in-depth training and skills development with exposure to various aspects of Lonza’s Global Strategic Growth Projects & Engineering (SGIE) Unit. The Intern is responsible to support the execution of the SGIE strategy, the implementation of process improvement programs, and overall program management (PMO).
During 6 months the Intern will gain a broad perspective within SGIE. The assignment of responsibilities and projects depends on current business needs and on the Trainee’s skills and interests.
Key responsibilities:
- Participate in the preparation of the SGIE reporting (charts for KPIs, collection of information)
- Support ongoing Growth Project Process improvement programs (implementation & tracking)
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, simplification and automation. Drive “share & reapply” of best practices.
- Support the development of a Growth Project Share Point
- Support SGIE Training activities
- Cooperate closely with peers from the network or other stakeholders in several areas of Project Engineering management
- Support organization of internal workshops and communications (agendas, meeting minutes, action lists, etc)
- Support the SGIE Lead Team Members for ad hoc requests
- Support activities (technical, coordination, networking) for sustainability ideas / projects as well as monitoring progress of them
Key requirements:
- Bachelor Degree, Master Degree or PhD in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering, Life Sciences, Materials Science or related discipline
- Very good knowledge in IT tools, especially share point and/or web site
- Ability to solve problems, understanding details and strategic picture, providing practical solutions. Strong analytical and investigative skills.
- Project management skills.
- Good influencing skills. Ability to communicate quality and compliance requirements to varying levels and functions of the organization. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Persistent.
- Experience at working both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment is essential
- Can conform to shifting priorities, demands and timelines through analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Open to execute administrative tasks
- Wish to develop knowledge in the technical fields
