Head Business FP&A is a senior finance leader in the field with capabilities and experience to steer business performance and actively engage with senior business stakeholders to drive financial results of the Company. He/ she leads the team that actively and effectively collaborates with business heads and other key stakeholders to drive financial performance, identify value creation opportunities and pro-actively manage risks. He/ she drives insights and strategic analytics for CEO-CFO-EC-BoD to steer business and take key decisions. He/she will support the head of P&A to drive all core FP&A activities. He/ she provides support to relevant teams (e.g., IR) in positioning business developments to key internal and external stakeholders (e.g., investors). He/she drives simplification, prioritization, standardization and key strategic projects. The role involves active collaboration across business within and outside Finance. Head Business FP&A ensures development of best-in-class talent/ capabilities in his team

Key responsibilities:

- Drive business steering and financial performance management of the Company
- Lead dialogue with senior executives and other key stakeholders to identify value creation opportunities
- Act as central analytical think-tank for Lonza business performance management, providing an “independent” own view on key opportunities and challenges Lonza faces
- Identify and monitor strategic value creation drivers, anticipate potential risks and propose mitigating actions/ plans through insights and analytics
- Lead preparation of strategic financial analyses to facilitate business decisions for senior stakeholders: Business Heads, CFO, CEO, BoD
- Provide business insights and analytical support to position Lonza “story” and financial performance with investors
- Lead strategic projects to generate insights in key value levers (productivity, growth investments, etc.) and derive action plans for top management
- Build and maintain strong relationship with business heads, divisional finance teams and other stakeholders within and outside Finance
- Ensure seamless communication and coordinated action-taking across Group and Divisions on all Finance-related matters
- Drive process excellence initiatives, foster standardization and simplification across Finance
- Drive innovation initiatives in Finance
- Lead a team of senior high-performing individuals and develop them

Key requirements:

- M.A., M.Sc. or equivalent in Finance and/or Accounting is required. MBA, PhD in Business is preferred
- Advanced level of experience within Finance organizations in high-profile multi-nationals
- Strong business acumen (preferable some pharma experience, manufacturing, CDMO business) and ability to quickly understand business models.
- Strong corporate finance / FP&A expertise and experience in driving financial performance for a large business.
- Agility and experience of operating in a dynamic context of a growing company.
- Experience in leading teams and developing talents
- Must be Business fluent in English
