Head of Procurement

**Head of Procurement at Scandit Zürich** We're looking for our first Procurement lead to help us build the foundation of our procurement process as we rapidly scale our business which recently surpassed 500 employees. Key responsibilities will include building out policies, processes, and procedures to scale the procurement function, driving implementation of procurement systems and, in a second step, supporting Scandit teams in strategic RfX processes and negotiations. The goal is to maximize the value received, ensure compliance, and minimize risk as well as facilitate a speedy and user-friendly purchasing by allowing fellow Scanditeers to independently engage with vendors by setting up effective guardrails. We are looking for a hands-on manager who can own the process, not shy of rolling up the sleeves. This is an ideal role for someone who is interested in building from scratch, scaling and leading a procurement function and a unique opportunity to make a big impact at a high-growth unicorn. **What Will You Do** Step one: Build the Basics In a first step you will be focused on anchoring a robust procure-to-pay process within the organization: - Lead and coordinate all procurement matters and processes. - Overhauling the existing procure-to-pay process and implementing a streamlined, self-service, end-to-end process. - Gather requirements, select and implement technology that supports a lightweight procure-to-pay process. - Assess, develop and implement purchase-related authorisation policies that provide clear and easy to follow guidelines as well as that ensure compliance. - Manage and monitor the day-to-day approval processes to ensure timely completion of purchasing. - Oversee Corporate Credit Card, and Corporate Travel programs. - Build strong relationships with key stakeholders across the company to agree on business goals and key requirements. - Guide and educate the Scandit organization about the procurement process and policies and establish an understanding of the new purchasing function across the organization. - Hire, develop, and grow the procurement team in line with the organization. Step two: Elevate maturity In a second step, after the fundamental operational processes have been put in place and solidified, you can focus on reaching the next maturity stage: - Supporting the business with negotiations with key suppliers and vendors. - Establish and drive KPIs to measure procurement effectiveness. - Review, optimize and manage existing vendor portfolio & landscape. - Develop materials and training programs to educate the business on procurement best practices. - Develop a comprehensive understanding of the organization& current and future requirements and derive procurement strategies. - Drive further initiatives that elevate Scandit's procurement to the next maturity stage. **Who You Are** - 6+ years of procurement experience, preferably with a focus on IT, software and professional services. - Preferably experienced with scale-up or high growth company. - Experience building out a procurement function from the ground up or significantly scaling a procurement function. - Experience in assessing, selecting, and implementing procurement related technology, specifically a procure-to-pay system (stand-alone or as part of an ERP). - Experience in developing and implementing purchase-related policies and procedures that are suitable for a scape up organization and that balance rigor and empowerment of the purchasing teams. - Strong contract negotiation skills and understanding of purchase transactions. - Strong analytical skills and a process-oriented mindset is a must. - Desire for continuous improvement and to challenge the current state. - Entrepreneurial spirit combining the willingness to "roll-up the sleeves" and get things done and the ability to delegate work where necessary. - Ability to build and maintain strong cross-functional relationship and communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. - Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently as an analytical self starter. **Location: Zürich or remote Switzerland** **Who We Are**: **Scandit** enables enterprises and consumers to change the way they interact with everyday objects and augment the physical world with real-time data captured by scanning barcodes and recognizing text, objects, and other visual identifiers using smartphones, tablets, wearables, drones and robots. **Scandit**'s mobile data capture platform is built on proprietary computer vision, augmented reality, and machine learning technologies.
