**OVERVIEW**:
The IMPACT Country Programs and Operations Department (CPOD) provides overall coordination and management oversight of all IMPACT country level operations. The department is responsible for the management, strategic planning, structuring, and resource planning of the 30+ IMPACT country offices worldwide. In addition to the Director and Regional Coordinators based in Geneva, CPOD is made up of Country Coordinator and Country Representatives who are responsible for representing IMPACT and managing and developing IMPACT’s programs in their country office. They lead the IMPACT teams to achieve program excellence and ensure the highest level of impact and accountability, while ensuring compliance to IMPACT guidelines, policies and standards across the country office.

**We are currently looking for a Country Programs & Operations Intern to join the IMPACT Initiatives team in Geneva, Switzerland.**

**INTERNSHIP OBJECTIVES**:

- Provide administrative support to the Country Programs and Operations Department staff in Geneva, on a variety of departmental portfolios and events.
- Gain exposure and develop knowledge of Country Programs & Operations functions, including strategy development, risk management, country operations, and leadership
- and management capacity building.
- Gain practical experience in the international humanitarian coordination system, and develop in-depth understanding of today’s major humanitarian crises, their main drivers and consequences, and resulting humanitarian needs.
- Develop capacity to move to a full-time field-based position within the humanitarian and international development sector.

**CORE TASKS**:
The Country Programs & Operations Intern shall:

- Provide administrative support to the Director of Country Programs and Operations and Regional Coordinators in the day-to-day communication and coordination of Departmental affairs, and coordination with Regional
- and Country offices.
- Support the development of organizational strategy and risk analysis and monitoring systems, help prepare related documentation and events, and document minutes of meetings as required.
- Support the planning and implementation of the annual IMPACT Regional Coordination Meetings in Jordan and Kenya including content development, logistics, and event coordination.
- In general: track documents and tools, keep databases up to date, support departmental IT-related tasks, participate in and contribute to meetings, take minutes, and support preparation of presentations and trainings.
- Provide other support to IMPACT Departments/ Units as directed.

**REQUIREMENTS**:
**Required**:

- Good academic qualifications, preferably in the process of obtaining a Master’s degree in relevant discipline (International Relations, Political Sciences, Social Research, Economics, Business, Communications, or similar)
- Strong motivation and interest in working in the humanitarian and development sector
- Fluency in oral and written English & French
- Attention to detail and commitment to producing high quality work
- Good working knowledge in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Openness to feedback and willingness to learn
- Ability to manage time effectively and work in a fast paced, results oriented working environment.
- Ability to work independently, with initiative, and strong capacity to work in intercultural team

**Desired**:

- Interest in an extended career within the humanitarian and development sector, especially the desire to move to a field-based position upon the_ _successful_ _completion of the internship
- Fluency in oral and written Spanish
- Familiarity with the humanitarian aid system
- Experience with programs under Adobe Creative Suite package (InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop).

**COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS**:

- For this position, the internship stipend is 1'450 CHF monthly (before income tax). NB - IMPACT salaries are strictly determined by our salary grid depending on the grade of the position and the level of education and experience of staff. A contribution to medical insurance of 450 CHF per month is already included in the salary figure.
- Applicants must hold a valid work permit for Switzerland or be EU/EFTA citizens
- Up to 40% of remote work on a weekly basis
