**Director, Statistical Science**

**Role & Function**

The Statistical Science Director provides statistical input and leadership to the scientific, clinical and regulatory strategies of projects throughout R&D and life-cycle management.

**Key Responsabilites**
- Accountable for all statistical aspects within assigned products providing statistical, scientific and strategic expertise throughout all phases of the drug development process.
- Leads the statistical thinking and contributions to the creation and delivery of the Clinical Development Plan, to the TPP and to the Regulatory and Commercial Strategies.
- Accountable for the overall quality and the timely delivery of the statistical analyses for the assigned products.
- Provides leadership in designing optimal and innovative studies, defining decision-making criterion and quantifying risks, to achieve project objectives and regulatory requirements.
- Provides leadership and project coordination to all statisticians working in the project, including in-house consultants and statisticians at CROs

**Qualifications**
- Master of Science (MSc) or PhD in mathematics, statistics or equivalent
- At least 8 years of experience as a statistician in the pharmaceutical industry, CRO or similar.
- Preferred: Experience of working with major regulatory submissions.

- Strong strategic thinking and influencing skills
- Ability to communicate statistical information to non-statisticians

**Location**

The position will be based in Basel, Switzerland with home office flexibility.
