**Organizational Context**:

- The International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) is the world’s largest humanitarian organization, with a network of 191-member National Societies (NSs). The overall aim of IFRC is “to inspire, encourage, facilitate, and promote at all times all forms of humanitarian activities by NSs with a view to preventing and alleviating human suffering and thereby contributing to the maintenance and promotion of human dignity and peace in the world.” IFRC works to meet the needs and improve the lives of vulnerable people before, during and after disasters, health emergencies and other crises.- IFRC is part of the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement (Movement), together with its member National Societies and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The position’s reporting line is within the Health and Care Department. The Director of the Health and Care Department is a member of the Risk Communication and Community Engagement Collective Service Steering Group which takes strategic decisions on behalf of the Collective Service. This position leads the Risk Communication and Community Engagement Interagency Secretariat team with Social Science, Information Management and Risk Communication capacity.The position reports to the Lead, Health Climate, Migration & Risk Communication.

**Job Purpose**:
The Coordinator, Risk Communication and Community Engagement supports the coordination of the interagency (IFRC, WHO, UNICEF) Collective Service for Risk Communication, Community Engagement and also leads IFRC health-related Risk Communication and Community Engagement activities in both development and humanitarian settings.

The Coordinator supports inter-agency efforts (IFRC, WHO, UNICEF) for collective and coordinated community engagement approaches to the health and humanitarian architecture. The incumbent will also lead the health and RCCE agenda within IFRC’s Health and Care Department.

The job holder represents the Risk Communication and Community Engagement Collective Service in relevant operational and coordination fora reporting on the priority Risk Communication and Community Engagement issues and advises Collective Service members on appropriate courses of action.
