Hitachi Energy is seeking a Master Data Domain Manager - Product & Material Domain to join our international team. The Master Data Domain Manager will be responsible for the specific master data domain related to Products & Materials, with focus on strategic aspects but also overseeing the operational ones. Overall accountable for the domain in all areas including master data model definition, master data model deployement and adoption in the organization. Works closely with businesses and other relevant functions to understand business strategy, business processes and reporting requirements. Reporting to the Head of Portfolio Management Function

**Responsibilities**:

- Strategic alignment:

- Acts as a speaking partner to the business in Product & Material domain area regarding business strategy, changes in processes, in Master Data models and in reporting.
- Ensures that the Master Data for the domain supports the current and future business needs
- Domain network:

- Establishes and manages a network of Product & Material domain managers in the Business Units (including HUBs, shared services, and acquired companies), to ensure the quality and requested deliverables for common Product & Material Master Data are achieved
- Acts as an everyday link between the Business and IT organizations providing constant feedback to the IT organization, representing the business on Product & Material related topics
- Data quality & data cleansing:

- Establishes processes and procedures to ensure data quality, and works cross-functionally to resolve Product & Material Master Data issues. Holds data owners accountable for data completeness and data accuracy.
- Works with the Product & Material data owners and drives them to develop data cleansing plans based on data gaps. Monitors progress to plan and initiates corrective action as required.
- IT system performance:

- Together with IT organization ensures that the tools and systems necessary for managing the Product & Material Master Data are always running
- Together with IT organization defines the right Service Level Agreements (SLA) and necessary support models for such tools and systems
- Business process improvement:

- Works with all process owners from all relevant stakeholder organizations to lead data conversion activities associated with business process improvement initiatives and investments. Takes accountability for results of data conversion activities and ensures data quality
- Governance:

- Participates in and facilitates the Product & Material Domain Steering Committee, including the definition and management of Product & Material Master Data governance policy, procedures, and controls (Master Data categorization, controls, security, retention, compliance, reporting).
- Oversees the activities and associated projects, ensuring that the milestones and goals are met and are within the approved budgets
- Performs risk management analysis to reduce risks and reports and escalates to management and stakeholders as and when needed
- Continuous improvement:

- Directs and implements continuous improvement of Product & Material Master Data management processes and practices. Communicates and collaborates cross-functionally to ensure alignment of priorities and decisions.
- Works with the organization to develop training documentation as and when needed
- People leadership and development:

- Leads Product & Material Domain Master Data team at corporate level, managing required resourcing for both development and operations. Ensures that the area of responsibility is effectively organized, staffed, skilled and directed. Guides, motivates and develops direct/indirect subordinates within HR policies.

Your background
- 10+ years experience with master data management, particularly product master data. Product management and/or IT data modelling background is a plus
- Demonstrated capability to effectively communicate to diverse group of stakeholders and individuals, including senior management
- Strong business acumen skills and general management awareness
- Solid skills for process management, including planning of documentation, training, and implementation across the organization
- Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team, able to motivate, inspire, manage, and develop people
- Demonstrated ability to translate data into actionable recommendations
- Solid analytical thinker with desire to drive business operations improvements
- Strong project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple priorities simultaneo
