Engineering Manager, Hardware

**Responsibilities and Duties**:

- Lead and manage a team of exceptional engineers, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high levels of motivation, productivity, and collaboration.
- Develop and execute project plans, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet or exceed quality standards.
- Drive the development of new features, improvements, and innovations in drone technology to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
- Advise engineers in architectural design decisions and help foster collaboration across different teams.
- Coordinate with external partners and manufacturers to ensure seamless integration of drone systems.
- Implement and maintain robust testing and quality assurance processes to guarantee the reliability, safety, and performance of drone systems.
- Collaborate with engineers to solve complex technical challenges related to drone design, propulsion systems, sensors, and control systems.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders, including executives, project managers, and team members, providing regular updates on project status, challenges, and opportunities.

**Qualifications and Skills**:

- At least 3 years of experience in leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrated track record of delivering hardware products.
- Demonstrated track record of building and supporting effective engineering teams.
- Creativity and flexibility, proactively identifying issues and proposing solutions.
- Ability to coach and grow engineers at all career development stages via feedback.
- Ability to tackle ambiguity and define goals in an unstructured environment.
- Ability to effectively translate business goals into engineering deliverables.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to keep a global team fully informed.
- Experience working with the QGC and PX4 ecosystem is a plus.
