A Postdoc position is available in the Liver Immunology research group at the Department of Biomedicine of the University Hospital Basel, Switzerland. The Liver Immunology research group is a young team working in close collaborations with clinicians and scientists at the University Hospitals in Basel, Liestal, Bern and Oxford. **Your position**

Liver diseases represent a rapidly increasing health-risk worldwide. Most liver diseases are
characterized by an inflammatory response in the liver, leading to progressive fibrosis that can result in liver cirrhosis, loss of liver function or development of hepatocellular carcinoma. We are investigating the role of Mucosal-associated invariant T (MAIT) cells in the pathophysiology of liver diseases. Our interest in this context is the interplay between the gut and the liver, referred to as the immunological gut-liver axis.

**Your profile**
- Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D. degree
- Background in T cell immunology, cell biology and biochemistry
- Knowledge in multicolor flow cytometry and immunological cell culture methods, as well as knowledge in bioinformatics/microbiome analysis will be of advantage
- High degree of motivation in academic research and enthusiasm for clinical questions
- Ability to work independently and as a team player, together with scientific and clinical collaborators
