The Mechanistic Immunology (MI) group is an exploratory team within the Novartis Biologics Center (NBC), focused on understanding and exploiting the molecular and immunological mechanisms for discovery,

Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

- Co-lead projects in collaboration with disease area (DAs) from early target discovery to clinical stage programs aimed at investigating antibody immune repertoire
- Drive translational human immunology experiments in the laboratory
- Plan, lead and execute analysis of immune responses to gene therapy vectors aiming at understanding the influence on vector function and effector mechanisms
- Analyze and collect experimental data and present scientific interpretation in project team and management board meetings. Plan, lead and participate in the evaluation of new methods and technologies
- Successful independent initiation and leadership of relevant scientific projects with strong project management skills: Defining project strategies and priorities, managing several projects simultaneously and presenting project updates to management boards

**Minimum requirements**
- What you will bring to the role:
- PhD in Molecular & Cell Biology or related field with a background in human immunology and Post doctoral experience in pharmaceutical company or academia
- Proven record of scientific expertises in human immune cells biology, from cellular to molecular characterization
- Experience in the analysis of vector-induced immunity, including depth characterization of adaptive and cell-mediated responses to viral and non-viral vectors
- Successful independent initiation and leadership of relevant scientific projects with strong project management skills: Defining project strategies and priorities, managing several projects simultaneously and presenting project updates to management boards
- Demonstrated ability to develop new assays, critically analyze data, learn and combine new techniques and concepts quickly, design experiments and perform exploratory activities
- Well-developed interpersonal / communication / team skills in an international cross-cultural environment with an enthusiastic pro-active attitude
