**Process Technology Innovation Scientist**:
**Background**
CSL Behring AG in Bern specializes in the production of drugs for the treatment of immune deficiency states and immune function disorders, as well as drugs for rhesus prophylaxis and albumin solutions for shock and burn victims. CSL Behring AG's production facilities are licensed by the Swiss health authorities and by the US FDA. Annually, therapeutically important proteins are isolated from more than six million liters of human plasma according to the strictest safety and quality standards and processed into drugs.
CSL Behring AG products are distributed worldwide.
Data is the lifeblood of research, and it needs to flow quickly and along the right paths. As a Data Engineer working with R&D, you will help create an information ecosystem in which scientists can do their best work to bring new treatments to patients with rare diseases, instead of spending time organizing and re-organizing data. You will work interactively with R&D and I&T colleagues to identify the data needed for important decisions about which of our potential treatments should advance and which should not and build data pipelines and products to deliver those data in ways that make it easy to use. You will link our internal data with published biological data to give scientists richer context for their decisions.
**Task and Responsibilites**
- The holder of this position will be working predominantly in the lab on site with the possibility to work remotely.
- Access Type: Local site access to CSL Behring, Bern. focus will be on innovation in the field of process
technology and protein purification methods
- Evaluation of new technologies
- Statistical data evaluation
**You must have these qualifications**
- Experience in preparative protein purificaiton technologies Knowledge in mechanistic modelling of unit operations (e.g. mixing, CFD).
- Planning, execution and evaluation of experimental laboratory work
- Education: PhD degree in a scientific discipline, preferably Biotechnology, Chemical Engineering, or Chemistr Experience in industry is a plus.
- Main Team work oriented mindset
- Good communication skills
Desirable Requirements:
- Protein purification
- DoE, Statistics experience
- Process simulation and modelling.
- Develop cloud data products and visualizations that help R&D scientists answer important research questions from Discovery through Clinical Development
- collaborate with research and process development teams to understand the requirements, challenges, and possible solutions
- Develop programmatic and manual checks to ensure data quality using cloud tools or industry standard software like Informatica IDQ
- work with scientists to understand and resolve data issues found duringanalysis
- Use and promote master data for consistency across data sets
- Model and analyze structured and unstructured data to extract information and help answer R&D questions
