The purpose of this role is to be responsible for conducting expert and detailed financial evaluation for Board
- and CEO/CFO-level M&A projects across the Novartis Group, as well as leading negotiations on finance matters and the financial aspects of M&A deal closings. He/She acts as the center of excellence and leadership for Finance and finance-related transaction execution and is the “right hand” and the key support role to (and likely deputy for) the Global Head of M&A.

Responsabilities:

- Acts as the center of excellence for finance in M&A and finance-related transaction execution
- Leads the financial evaluation and analysis for Board-level M&A deals and, as needed, provides input on Board-level deals across a number of deal types
- Works closely with Group and divisional management to understand key financial objectives and its considerations (e.g. Accounting, Treasury, Tax, Planning, Compliance, etc.)
- Leads finance-related M&A negotiations and transaction closings and serves as the “external face” for Finance in M&A matters, including vis-vis investment banks, counterparties (including Novartis peer companies and CFOs of counterparties) and law firms
- Develop key talents both within M&A Finance, Group M&A and the wider transaction finance space across the Novartis group
- Acts as the “right hand” and is the natural deputy/stand-in to the Global Head of M&A

**Minimum requirements**
- University Degree (discipline with numerical and / or analytical content)
- Post graduate MBA/PhD or further professional qualifications
- Expert in valuation and financial analysis for transactions
- Strong communications skills and displays highest professionalism in an executive setting
- Ability to challenge while remaining a team player
- Excellent analytical skill with conceptual thinking abilities
