Head of Internal Audit

The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for Axpo's strategic risk-based internal audit plan and strategy as well as managing the internal audit function in accordance to the professional standards.

In this role you are leading and directing the internal audit service so that it makes a full contribution to and meets the needs of the organisation and external stakeholders while reporting directly to the Board of Directors of the Axpo Holding AG with administrative oversight from the CFO.

**What you will do**:

- Forming a point of view on the next generation of Internal Audit and shaping the function
- Giving assurance on the control environment. This includes risk and information management and internal controls across all systems
- Reviewing the adequacy of key corporate arrangements including eg. risk strategy, risk register, anti fraud and corruption strategy, corporate planning
- Producing an evidence based annual internal audit opinion on the organisation's control environment
- Working closely with others functions across the group to ensure that sufficient and relevant evidence is used. Where relying on others, clarifying the degree and basis for the reliance
- Reviewing significant partnership arrangements and major services provided by third parties and the controls in place to promote and protect the organisation's interests
- Determining the resources, expertise, qualifications and systems for the internal audit service that are required to meet internal audit's objectives

**What you bring & who you are**:

- 10-15 years of related work experience
- Experience in strategic objective setting and management
- Highly developed written and verbal communication skills to motivate, influence and negotiate, with the ability to challenge at a senior level when necessary
- Strong exposure to the energy industry or a commodity trading industry
- Hands on experience and knowledge of the accounting, operational audit, risk management, and compliance processes of these businesses
- Excellent analytical skills, strategic thinking and business acumen with the ability to deal with ambiguity and change
- Business-oriented mind-set and strong team player
- CIA, CISA or equivalent certification is a plus
- Fluent in English and German language essential
