Axpo's Nuclear division is investing to jump to the international forefront of digitalization, robotization and automation of key operational processes. As the Head of Digital & Innovation Nuclear you will be responsible to shape and drive this transformation into an innovation powerhouse. You will create concepts and strategies, will develop the digitalization and innovation roadmap, and perform research to decide in which areas of activity Axpo Nuclear should focus its efforts.

**What you will do**:
**Strategy**
- Develop Axpo Nuclear's Digital & Innovation Strategy under the lead of the Head of Asset Management. Communicate the strategy broadly within Axpo Nuclear and the Axpo Group
- Ideate & create concepts and strategies for innovative solutions to increase the efficiency, security, and profitability of Axpo's nuclear power plants
- Prioritize and ruthlessly focus on the most impactful initiatives for success
- Monitor promising new developments in robotics, automation, data, and in new nuclear power generation technologies
- Collaborate with the group digital transformation peers to align the strategies to the overall Axpo group and with business IT to benefit from additional perspectives and experiences
**Key innovation projects & project portfolio**:

Successfully build and deliver cutting edge solutions in key robotics and automation technologies to solve the thorniest operational and decommissioning & decontamination challenges of nuclear
- Identify and effectively collaborate with internal and external partners and the business IT to deliver project results
- Control and report on project progress
- Beyond the projects you contribute to directly, you will also drive, control and support the overall digital & innovation project portfolio within Axpo Nuclear
**Build up and lead a team**:

- You will establish and lead a team of four direct reports to drive the digitalization & innovation efforts

**What you bring & who you are**:

- At least 10+ years of strategy and product development experience in digitalization and innovation
- A degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, basic science or equivalent practical experience
- Deep expertise in robotics, automation, LIDAR technologies, machine learning or image recognition
- Demonstrated experience in building up and leading high performance teams in a highly technical and innovative environment
- Pragmatic and goal driven individual who is both tenacious and hungry for change but also empathizes with the regulatory and safety challenges of the nuclear industry
- No nuclear industry experience needed
- Fluent in English, German is a plus
