In this role, you will oversee day to day operations and on time delivery of testing services, manage equipment, instrument, and personnel to meet commitments to clients and department goals, be engaged in continuous improvement of the testing services and meet client expectations in delivery of testing services.

**In more details, you will**:
**_ Managerial and Leadership duties and responsibilities: _**
- Provide managerial leadership to the local department staff.
- Communicate the goals and strategy of CCLS, the lab and the department.
- Manage all day to day delivery of testing services.
- Ensure testing quality and on time delivery of testing services.
- Ensure that an adequate number of trained and competent staff is available to match the workload requirements of the department.
- Responsible for ensuring client satisfaction.
- Responsible for meeting established quality measures and on time responses to quality issues (QTM, PT, QCSR, etc.) as required.

**Management**:

- Manage all day to day production operations of the local department.
- Manage all non-production activities and obligations of the local department.
- Provide support, as required, to the local department leader (director or associate director) and assist in the fulfillment of his/her responsibilities.
- Participate in and support client visits, audits and inquiries to ensure complete fulfillment of requests and interests.

**Performance Monitoring and Evaluation**:

- Ensure quality and timely delivery of both production and non-production activities.
- Monitor and report performance and results against targets and global standards.
- Ensure regulatory compliance within the local department.
- Coordinate departmental activities with Global Laboratory Support Services.
- Assist director in the establishment of globally consistent production standards.
- Ensure on time delivery of performance reports (PT, QC/PM, Internal and External QC) and responses to inquiries from other functional areas.
- Participate in client visits, audits and inquiries; ensure complete fulfillment of requests and audit findings.
- Support Six Sigma and other process improvement initiatives.

**Personnel**:

- Recruit, train, develop and retain sufficient supervisory resources for the effective oversight of the local department operations.
- Convert volume forecasts into specific personnel resource needs and work with the department director (or local associate director) and senior director operations to secure necessary and appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
- Plan, schedule and monitor the technical training and development of local departmental staff.
- Ensure an adequate level of appropriately trained staff is available and effectively assigned to meet the production and non-production requirements of the local department.

**_ Essential External Client-related Job Duties: _**
- Support marketing and sales as needed in their efforts to meet specific client requests for testing services.

**What we’re looking for**:

- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in Histology
- 6 years’ experience in a laboratory following clinical training, plus 2 years supervisory or management experience in a clinical laboratory environment
- Bachelor, Master or PhD in a scientific discipline or business administration; or Medical Technology degree
- A professional certification (ASCP, AABB or other) in the area of expertise is an advantage
- Qualification by the _Foederation Analyticorum Medicilanium Helveticorum _(FAMH) or by the _Foederation Medicorum Helveticoruma _(FMH) is a plus
- Fluency in English; Command of French is a plus
- Computer literate
- Client-focused with an interest for innovation and change
