**The Company**:
Planetary SA is SCALING THE NEW FOOD EVOLUTION. The company is a venture capital backed food-tech
company operating across 2 locations in Switzerland and Germany. By building industrial-scale
biomanufacturing (fermentation) capacity and IP globally, we are enabling the bioeconomy through shifting the
food system from livestock to non-animal proteins.

**The Position**:

- Reports to the CSO
- Supervise the planning, building and subsequent operation of a microbial fermentation pilot plant up to
- 20’000 litres.- Document all trials & conducted analyses in a well-organized electronic lab notebook following GDP
- concepts- Creation of SOPs - Search, identify, demonstrate, and implement new processes/
- technologies/instruments to optimize and automate fermentation processes and workflows- Communicate with internal and external stakeholders through PM platform, meetings and written- Will lead a team of 4-6 FTEs
- Mentor and train team members
- According to bioprocess requirements - occasional on
- site presence may be required outside of regular
- working hours.- Manages communication flows with third party vendors, clients and academic and industrial partners

**Qualifications and Experience**:

- BSc with 5+ years, MSc with 2+ years or PhD with experience in biochemical engineering, biochemistry,

microbiology, or a related field, or a comparable combination of experience and training
- Prior experience in the development and implementation of robust microbial pilot to production scale-up

fermentation processes
- Experience with DSP - Purification of proteins and lipids
- Experience with relevant analytical technologies, both on
- and off-line
- Experience in and ability to work with a range of microorganisms
- Ability to work with GDP & GMP
- Languages: English required, French and German would be an advantage
