News Producer

**The EBU is seeking an experienced and dynamic News Producer to join our international team at the Eurovision News Exchange.**

**ABOUT THE EUROVISION NEWS**_ _**DEPARTMENT**

Eurovision News is a premier distributor of quality news content, a provider of news-related broadcast services and an advocate for public service journalism. Its primary goal is to serve the needs of the EBU members according to its editorial standards and principles.

The Eurovision News Exchange, Social Newswire, Radio Exchange and Sports Exchange offer access to selected live and edited material from EBU Members and unlimited number of content partners 24/7.

The EUROVISION News Exchange (EVN), in operation since 1961, is the biggest exchange of its kind. It is built upon a network of **approximately 70** public and private broadcast and content partners in Europe, Asia and the Americas is founded on principles of editorial integrity, journalistic solidarity, and sharing of knowledge and best practices.

Live and edited news content is delivered continuously to EBU Members and News Exchange sub
- licensees over two permanent satellite channels on the EUROVISION network. The edited material is delivered by file.

**JOB SUMMARY**

**KEY RESPONSABILITIES**

News Production (90%)
- Demonstrate excellent news judgment and stay updated on global and national news.
- Ensure EBU members receive required content and maximize value from the news exchange.
- Edit video and audio autonomously or under the News Editor's direction.
- Produce and manage complex news stories, ensuring high-quality and timely delivery.
- Engage in social media and digital newsgathering, with a willingness to adopt new technologies.
- Occasionally participate in special events and projects, adapting to flexible hours including night shifts.

North African and Arabic Liaison (10%)
- Maintain regular contact with North African members and other Arabic-speaking partners.
- Understand and address the key issues relevant to the region's members.
- Use strong diplomatic and negotiation skills to build and enhance relationships with existing and new partners.
- Facilitate content sharing and collaboration on top regional stories.

**REQUIRED QUALIFICATION**
- Native Arabic speaker with fluency in written and spoken Arabic.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English.
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a newsroom.
- Strong news judgment, excellent writing, and subediting skills.
- Proficiency in using broadcasting news technology and video editing.
- Solid understanding of journalistic principles and ethics.
- Experience with social media tools, particularly Twitter, and a digitally savvy approach.
- Ability to work well under pressure within a diverse, multicultural team.
