**The Role**
Veeva’s European Legal Team is looking for a graduate to the Bar in the DACH region to be part of our highly motivated, tightly knit, and collaborative legal team. Reporting to the Associate General Counsel, Europe, you will support Veeva’s sales teams with contract negotiations and other legal matters as directed by Veeva’s DACH counsel. The Contracts Manager/Counsel will ensure that legal matters are handled in the best interests of Veeva and appropriately reflect Veeva’s policies and business practices, including the legal directives of the Veeva Legal Department. This role provides the opportunity for an exceptional graduate to enter an exciting in-house legal career at a cutting-edge leading cloud software company.
**What You’ll Do**
- Negotiate and draft all types of customer agreements, including SaaS subscription agreements, data processing agreements, and NDAs, with a wide variety of customers. Your primary focus will be on SaaS subscription agreements.
- Identify legal, financial, and business issues for resolution
- Work closely with the DACH counsel and DACH sales teams in addition to specific European sales teams.
- Act as resource and advisor to non-contract professionals.
- Establish and maintain scalable contracting processes and templates.
**Requirements**:
- Law Degree
- Graduate to the Bar/fully qualified lawyer
- Excellent and effective German and English language verbal and written communication and drafting skills
- Detail-oriented, self-motivated, with a passion for being part of a high performing team
- Analytical thinker, ability to identify and evaluate risk
- Strong interpersonal skills, with a friendly, outgoing, and flexible manner
- Motivated self-starter with the ability to successfully work independently with little guidance, but also able to use good judgment and escalate issues when needed.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet critical deadlines
- Assist with other corporate initiatives as required
- Establish and build good working relationships with internal clients, based on mutual trust and respect, as well as knowledge of the company’s business, needs, and goals.
**Nice to Have**
- Previous experience of sell-side contracting experience preferably in a fast-paced technology company
- Previous experience negotiating SaaS agreements.
- Familiarity with data privacy, including GDPR, and information security
