**Global Procurement Director** (M/F/w)**

**Job summary**

This position will lead the Global Procurement team for Kennametal. In this role, you will lead a team of 5 to 7 direct reports with 40 to 50 total employees. This role will report directly to the VP of Global Sourcing and Procurement. You will be responsible for all aspects of the procure to pay process working closely with supply chain and operations to align purchase orders with demand and inventory targets. This role will partner closely with our global category teams to ensure the strategies are executed and adjusted to manage risks and drive continuous improvement. This team will directly interface with all global suppliers for Kennametal and set priorities and lead procurement activities to support daily operations and indirect services for the corporation.

**Key Job Responsibilities**
- Lead Purchase requisition to purchase order conversion for Kennametal globally.
- Lead development, communication, and performance monitoring for supply base. Coordinate with cross functional stakeholder to meet delivery, quality, cost, lead time, and inventory targets for supply base.
- Attract, develop, retain, and lead performance improvement actions to manage talent.
- Interface with regional sourcing leaders on drive system and process standards. Identify and manage projects to drive performance and efficiency improvement coordinating with sourcing transformation team.
- Provide global sourcing leadership for purchasing process performance and optimization for Kennametal.
- Lead the optimization of tactical purchasing tasks from sourcing, plant buyers and support operations to maximize performance and minimize the cost to serve the business.
- Execute global category strategies and promote with cross functional stakeholders. Provide input to the global category strategies to drive continuous improvement and risk reduction.
- Provide sourcing leadership within each region interfacing with operations and the business teams. Act as the first escalation point for sourcing and procurement execution issues. Engage category managers, supplier quality and sourcing leadership as appropriate for systemic or critical issue resolution.

**Your profile**
- Bachelor and/or master within a relevant field of study (Business, Supply Chain, Engineering).
- Proven track record within strategic procurement and/or category management (+10 years).
- SAP or other ERP system usage experience.
- 5 years or greater of team leadership experience; Advanced people management skills.
- Motivated by leading negotiations. Goal-oriented and proactive. Strong communication skills.
- Business Acumen - Driven by entrepreneurship. Able to set priorities and establish priorities. This role provides a unique opportunity to develop and manage a key commodity area.
- Business Performance Measurement - Ability to understand internal business processes, external market segments, establish strategic direction and business objectives, and gain alignment with cross-functional stakeholders.
- Customer Relationship Management - Understands organization of internal customer groups, key users and characteristics of these customers. Drives to understand customer requirements and uses this information as an input to create effective strategies and reach timely decisions to foster mutually beneficial customer relationships.
- Data Management - Skilled in analytics; able to maintain key data, leverage raw data to organize and prioritize information for decision making.
- Project Management - Designs, plans and manages projects to deliver value-added solutions within defined time and cost parameters.
- Financial Analysis - Able to create cost savings scenario summaries and track purchase price performance to commodity markets to differentiate between cost movement due to commodity markets versus supply chain improvement. Understand financial concepts including invoicing, accounts payable and other financial business processes. Interprets financial data, analyzes cost structures, and determines financial impacts of decisions.
- Experience working with a global corporation and matrixed environment a plus.
- Experience in a sourcing role and following compliance requirements for a global company and highly regulated industries.
