Head of Insurance Controlling

As our new Head of Insurance Controlling (f/m/d) you will lead the Insurance Controlling Team, embedded in the wefox Group controlling team, reporting to the Head of Controlling for wefox Group with a dotted line to the CFO of wefox Insurance AG. It collaborates with wefox Group’s regional controlling teams, where sufficient scale/ capabilities have been established already, and cover countries where a local Finance organisation has not been fully built. It adds an insurance-specific perspective and expertise to all regional Finance teams. The Insurance Controlling team currently has 5 FTE, incl. the Head of Insurance Controlling.

In this role you will
- Coordinate all insurance controlling activities globally for wefox Insurance AG, incl. closely coordinating with regional Finance teams and Group Controlling
- Lead the Insurance Controlling team of 4 team members, both as disciplinary lead as well as a mentor
- Own the insurance planning process in close collaboration with regional Finance teams in accordance with IFRS4/ -17, Liechtenstein Local GAAP and Solvency II
- Manage transition of planning and controlling processes from Liechtenstein Local GAAP to IFRS4 and IFRS17
- Ensure timely internal management reporting as well as support of external reporting towards FMA with focus on accuracy and completeness
- Automatize monthly reporting and minimise manual interactions
- Cover P&L topics as well as balance sheet topics, while liaising with relevant stakeholders (eg. Treasury, Actuarial, Accounting, etc.)
- Inspire and lead performance projects across all wefox portfolios, producing and presenting recommendations to management
- Built a cutting-edge controlling system, based to identify and manage key strategic and tactical success factors, using data-based tools, PowerBI, etc. - and conceive a story line for wefox´s IPO (“wefox uses a cutting edge controlling system to maximise its profitability through/ by ”)
- Participation in special projects (incl. Data-driven projects, acquisitions, etc.)

**What you bring**:

- Relevant training in business administration and quantitative methods
- Several years of professional experience in Insurance Controlling
- A Strong analytical background with a techie bias, PowerBI knowledge is a must, SQL knowledge highly preferable
- Non-life insurance knowledge, Life insurance knowledge is highly preferable
- A professional communication style, in particular the ability to effectively communicate with regional Finance and leadership teams, executive management of wefox Insurance and senior Finance leaders in wefox Group
- Strong leadership skills and the willingness to embrace wefox´s culture of trusting, involving and appreciating colleagues
- Knowledge and experience in actuarial methodologies, Solvency II and IFRS 17
- A strategic vision and never-ending ideas in both continuous improvement of insurance businesses as well as controlling tools and processes
- A strong sense of personal responsibility and initiative combined with an entrepreneurial mindset and the willingness to work in a fast changing environment
- Confidence in an international environment and fluency in written and spoken German and English
